Xray XB2 2021 1/10th 2WD buggy kit

Xray have released the full details on their new XB2 2021 1/10th 2wd buggy. This latest iteration puts a focus on the front of the car, with particular attention paid to the steering system. Improved steering system geometry makes the car more predictable, easier to drive and faster in high speed corners, while new steering parts include new steering arms, new Ackermann plate, new servo link, and a new offset servo horn. The XB2 now includes 3-slot graphite steering block extension for improved steering in slower corners and more corner speed in high speed sections. New front and rear shock towers with denser upper shock mounting positions provide ultrafine set-up adjustments and longer front shock shafts and shock bodies maintain proper down travel with the new shock tower. The configuration is now unified for both Carpet and Dirt editions for all track conditions. Other new items include new front roll centre holder with a wider mounting position to reduce diving effect in high speed corners and integrated anti-roll bar mount, all-new Gamma 2C body and Tec wing in the XB2C’21 for improved rotation in corners and better stability at high speeds, or all-new Gamma 2D body and Rank wing in the XB2D’21 for maximised overall grip and rear stability.

LCG Racing T4’20 SFX Conversion chassis

LCG Racing have introduced this new aluminium chassis for the Xray T4 2020 SFX Conversion which features a stepped decrease of cutout width from front to rear. This makes the chassis softer in the front and stiffer in the rear which they claim makes the car smoother at corner entry and more stable on power while increasing steering through the corner. The chassis is designed with reduced width at the droop screw area to decrease scrubbing and, therefore, increase corner speed and only includes long suspension arm holes to improve strength and optimise flex characteristics. The black anodised aluminium chassis is made from high quality 7075 Aluminium and comes laser engraved with the LCG and SFX logos.

Xray XB4 2021 1/10th 4WD buggy kit

At this stage we have all seen the in depth video presentation from Xray on the design and production of their new for 2021 XB4 4wd buggy. Now that we know what went into making the car, we finally get to see the final results of all that work. The XB4 is an evolution of their World Championship winning buggy platform and for the first time the car will be available in either carpet or dirt editions. The main focus seems to have been around the front and rear horizontal split design bulkheads, which allow for the adjustment of the differential height in the car. The ability to make this adjustment, necessary for the switch between dirt and carpet, has meant changes needed to be able to be made to the central drivetrain angle and height. Longer front and rear central drive shafts and shortened pinion gears offer up improved drivetrain efficiency and both shafts are connected by an all-new multi-adjustable slipper clutch with independently adjustable front/rear slippage. new shock bodies, shock towers, a tweak free quick battery holder and body shells complete the main areas of focus.

Axon wheel hub axles for BD10, T4’20 & TRF420

Axon in Japan have produced these new wheel hub axles for the BD10, T4’20 & TRF420. Designed to dramatically improve traction, they do so on all 4 wheels by integrating the wheel hub with the car’s own axle shaft to create a direct connection from the drive shaft to the tires. Having the wheel hub axle now run on the bearings requires that the bearings of the front knuckle and rear hub be changed from a 1050 to 1060. The new bearing size, along with the smaller gap between the bearings due to the use of a smaller spacer between, further reduces rolling resistance as well as load on the bearings.
