Caretti announced as Yokomo Team Manager

Following the news earlier this week that long time driver Nicolas Lee is no longer with their team, Team Yokomo has announced Antoni Caretti as the new Team Manager for Asia and Australia.  A long time Yokomo driver in touring car and buggy, Australian Caretti will oversee the Asian/Australian market and be available for technical support at races and online.  On the announcement he said, ‘I am super exited to step up into a team manager position for Team Yokomo!  I want to thank Taguchi, Naoya and Christopher for making this happen and I’m already looking forward to 2025 and beyond.  When I started racing in 2007 my first race car was a Yokomo BD, so becoming a team driver and now team manager for such a prestigious brand is truly an amazing feeling!’

Yokomo SO3.0 2WD Buggy

Yokomo has announced the upcoming release of their latest 1:10 2WD Buggy offering the SO3.0.  Coming 15-months after the launch of its predecessor the SO2.0, the Japanese manufacturer claim their newest competition buggy offers even better performance on high-grip surfaces and is capable of cornering at higher speeds.  Key changes to the new car are a longer main chassis which provides a sense of stability, while the front weight loading and other features improve ground contact and bring out the vectors that propel the machine forward in the corners.  The motor mount has a lower centre of gravity, and the front and rear shock towers have been modified with aerodynamics in mind to establish a sharper ride.  The suspension arms, front/rear hub carriers, gearbox, bulkheads, and other parts are all graphite molded parts for a higher response when driving.

Yokomo MS1.0 Aluminium Gear Differential Case

Yokomo has announced the upcoming release of a new aluminium gear differential case for its MS1.0 1:10 Electric Touring Car.  Used in place of the standard plastic gear diff case, this aluminium diff case increases diff oil heat dissipation and stabilises operating effectiveness. Especially during the summer season, it can prevent oversteer due to low differential oil viscosity and stabilise lap times.  The pulley part is made of resin, but the case is made of aluminium, which provides high precision and increased drive efficiency.

Yokomo RO/SO Alu Center Link

New from Yokomo is this Aluminium Center Link for their RO/SO Series of 1:10 2WD buggies.  It significantly improves rigidity, reducing sway during cornering by upgrading the material.  The use of a bearing in the actuating part that connects to the steering wiper ensures smooth steering, even under applied torque.  The link enhances cornering response, allowing for sharper and more precise driving.

Yokomo Drift Car Double-Bearing Front Axle System

Designed for compatibility with their RD, SD, and MD series of 1:10 Drift cars’ front axles, Yokomo has introduced this double-bearing front axle system which significantly reduces friction by distributing load across the two bearings.  This minimises rotational resistance in the front tires, enhancing overall performance.  The axle shaft, made from high-quality steel but reduced to a Φ3mm diameter, is engineered to lower both weight and rotational moment.  This design enables smoother rolling during acceleration, providing an extra boost when exiting corners while also preventing wheel spin.  Additionally, tread width can be adjusted by simply replacing the included spacers, offering greater flexibility in tuning.
