Vigor BD8-2018 carbon chassis, top deck & shock towers

Made for Yokomo’s popular BD8-2018 touring car are Vigor RC’s new carbon fibre main chassis, top deck and shock towers. The chassis is of an updated design with larger cut-outs under the diffs for increased torsional flex and thus improved steering and traction in lower bite track conditions. The chassis is cut from 2.25mm high-quality carbon fibre and a direct fit. Also new is a narrow-design 2.0mm carbon fibre upper deck. The item sports updated outlines for an overall slimmer appearance and thus increased torsional flex, again helping with steering and traction in lower grip conditions. A direct replacement for the standard upper deck the part can be mixed and matched with any chassis type. Last but not least come new front and rear shock towers for the use with short shock absorbers.

Rebellion-RC BD8-2018 carbon fibre conversion set

Made for the popular Yokomo BD8 touring cars is Rebellion-RC’s new carbon fibre conversion kit. Designed to fit both the 2018 and 2017 vehicles, the set contains a new carbon fibre chassis whose special design with milled pockets for additional silicone cushions allows for optimised flex characteristics while retaining a low centre of gravity. Also part of the package are reduced thickness 3.0mm front and rear shock towers – doing away with the standard 3.5mm items. The parts are of a plain design without countersunk holes which is known to improve overall stability. Next up is an updated upper bumper plate for improved crash resistance and better main chassis protection while the upper top decks are available in three different designs and in 2.5mm, 2.2mm, 2mm or 1.5mm thickness. All items are also available separately, they are CNC-machined from highest quality carbon fibre and they come in a total of twelve different colours. All parts fit both the 2018 and 2017 model, however due to the updates Yokomo made between the two model years the motor mount sits in the “2018 position” when using the chassis in the older 2017 specification kit.

Zero Tribe BD8-2018 ultra low shock towers

Zero Tribe have introduced new ultra low shock towers for the Yokomo DB8-2018 touring car that allow to run Xray’s ULP or Axon’s High Big Bore shock absorbers. The shock stays are cut from high-quality carbon fibre and using them in combination with the ultra short shock absorbers will lower the car’s overall centre of gravity for improved handling especially on high to very high bite surfaces.

Yokomo release new YZ-4 & YD-2 optionals

Coming from Yokomo are new option parts for the YZ-4 buggy, YD-2 drift car and the Racing Performer motor series. First up are aluminium 8 degrees C-hubs for the YZ-4 4WD buggy. Offering a lower caster angle than stock the hubs increased steering response and tuning capabilities on dirt surfaces. The parts are machined from high-quality aluminium and they come black anodised and with machined silver edge details. Also new is a ceramic ball bearing set for the YD-2 series of drift cars. It includes six 1050 and two 1150 gearbox bearings that will greatly reduce natural friction for improved throttle response and top speed. Last but not least is a precision bearing set for the M3, M4 and D1 Racing Performer motor series. Included are a front and a rear bearing whose high precision will ensure a more efficient performance for better acceleration, top speed and durability.

Yokomo YD-2/4 diffusor sets

Coming from Yokomo and made for their YD-2 and YD-4 drift cars are two diffusor sets to further enhance the performance of the cars. First up is the front and undertray diffusor kit that consists of a front and undertray diffusor that will help to achieve improved front end grip using the front aerodynamic help while the undertray diffusor accelerates and guides the air towards the rear end of the chassis for improved overall grip without loosing the ability to precisely drifting the car. The front and undertray diffusor are usable for both the YD-2 and YD-4 kits. Also new is the side diffusor set for the YD-2S series of RWD cars. The side diffusor will greatly improve overall traction and top speed while the smaller gap between the chassis and the body will improve body rigidity and durability. All parts are moulded from impact-resistant composite material for durability and a low weight.

Yokomo YD-2/4 adjustable rear aluminium H-arms

Yokomo have introduced their new adjustable aluminium rear H-arms for the YD-2 and YD-4 series of drift cars. The multi-piece wishbones are slightly shorter than the standard parts for improved drift performance while included shims allow to fine-tune the car’s track width to ensure best possible adaption to various track conditions and driving styles. The sturdy alloy material makes for great precision and an optimised weight distribution with the arms being a direct fit on the YD-2EXII car but they require Y2-301D2 and Y2-301E2 rear alloy arm mounts as well as B8-301BS bushings for installation in all other YD-2 and YD-4 kits.
