AME BD8-series Carbon Backbone

The new AME Carbon Backbone for the Yokomo BD8-2018/17 has been developed and tested in cooperation with the Yokomo Factory Team in Stock and Modified classes and during the last couple of months. The backbone attaches to the rear part of the chassis and drastically changes the handling of the BD8, offering improved stability, drivability and corner speed in nearly all track conditions, from low to high grip carpet or asphalt.

Yokomo DB8-2018 aluminium chassis kit

Coming very soon from Yokomo is the BD8-2018 touring car kit in an aluminium chassis version. Offering the same features as the recently introduced carbon fibre chassis’d BD8-2018, the alloy kit includes a 2.0mm aluminium chassis over the carbon fibre part, making the car ideal for all high-traction surfaces. With the use of the aluminium chassis also the overall centre of gravity is slightly lowered and at the same time, the heat dissipation from the motor is greatly improved as the main plate can act as a heatsink. This is especially handy when running stock motors in high ambient temperatures. The first batch will include Yokomo’s Rear Toe Control system RTC for free and shipping of the kits is expected for end of October.

Factory RC YZ-2 carbon fibre gearbox shim set

Factory RC have introduced the carbon fibre gearbox shim set for the Yokomo YZ-2 series of 2WD buggies. It allows 1mm and 2mm adjustments to the gear box height to change the CG and dog bone plunge angle on the car. For carpet the team often runs the gear box shimmed up 2mm while using the Yokomo Z2-304C-2 and Z2-018-2 pieces. This shim set can also be used without these parts on dirt/clay tracks to increase rear grip on those services that need it. The set is compatible with every version of the YZ-2 including the 1st Gen, CA, DT, and DTM kit. Set includes both 1mm and 2mm shims for the gear box, rear “CA” style brace, and waterfall shims all made in carbon look plate. 1mm or 2mm ball stud washers are used on the rear DTM mount for adjusting height. The addition of the water fall shim prevents bind up in the transmission assembly allowing for additional flex and grip.

Yeah Racing YD2 carbon fibre chassis & top deck

Made for Yokomo’s YD2 RWD drift car are the new 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis plate and top deck from Yeah Racing. Both parts replace the standard composite pieces and make for an overall increased chassis stiffness while also being more resistant to heat generated by the motor. The chassis, that features milled slots underneath the motor section for improved heat dissipation, and top deck are available separately and they can be used as single item or together in order to achieve the required chassis stiffness.

Yokomo BD8-2018 EP Touring Car

Yokomo have introduced the follow up to their World Championship winning 1/10th scale EP touring car kit, the BD8-2018. Available at the end of October the new version is a further refinement of the previous model to push the limits further. In order to reduce the weight of the drive train the front spool has been redesigned and is now a single piece composite part in place of the previous aluminium and plastic assembly, but still uses metal outdrives. All the suspension parts in the car have been updated to a harder material to increase the overall performance. The upper deck and main chassis has also been redesigned to increase the rigidly and optimise the balance of the car. While the updates may seem minor and conservative they actually offer a big improvement in all areas. As a special offer for the first batch they will also include the rear toe control system (B8-RTC18) for free.

Yokomo YZ-2 aluminium bulkhead mount

New for the YZ-2, Yokomo have released this aluminium bulkhead mount. This new optional part creates a more rigid front end which in turn helps to make the steering sharper. These new parts are very light weight, so they don’t disturb the car’s weight balance which is important for the car’s posture in the air while at the same time increasing the driving performance, especially on low grip track conditions.
