Yokomo YZ-PS25A 25 Amp power supply

Yokomo YZ-PS25A 25 Amp power supply

Yokomo introduce the YZ-PS25A power supply for the use with 100 to 240VAC input. The device offers 12VDC and a maximum of 25A of output current, enough even for very powerful charger and tyre truers. An LC display informs about the current voltage, wattage and temperature while a separate 5V/1A USB port allows you to power your mobile devices. Due to the design of the power supply it can be directly mated with Yokomo’s YZ-110Duo charger with the help of two dual bullet-type connectors, limiting the amount of wires on your pit table for a clean and sleek look. Both the power supply and charger are also available as a combo set from mid-July.

Yokomo R12 C3.1 1/12th pan car kit

Yokomo R12 C3.1 1/12th pan car kit

Yokomo introduce the latest incarnation of their 4-time JMRCA National and 2-time IFMAR World Championship winning 1/12th scale car, the R12 C3.1. The kit features the newly developed rear friction tube dampers which consist of small-sized and light weight plastic-moulded tube dampers, a system that is used up front great results for some time now. The dampers reduce roll and improve agility of the car especially on carpet surfaces while the use of thicker rear oil also helps with rear end grip on asphalt surfaces. Up front, the C3.1 inherits the proven, fully adjustable double wishbone suspension and friction dampers from the previous generation R12’s. the C3.1 will be ready for shipping by the end of July.

Arrowmax B-Max2 side weight brass set

Arrowmax B-Max2 side weight brass set

Available now from Arrowmax is this 64g side weight kit for the newer generation Yokomo B-Max2 buggies. It is understood that the brass weights are used to fill the empty battery compartment spaces to the left and right of the chassis when running a shorty battery pack in longitudinal configuration. The parts add 64g of weight to the centre of the chassis which can be helpful especially in very bumpy track conditions.

PSM B-Max4 III shorty LiPo chassis conversion kit

PSM B-Max4 III shorty LiPo chassis conversion kit

Yesterday we reported about PSM’s shorty LiPo battery conversion kit for the Yokomo B-Max4 III and today the German company officially announce the set’s release. The conversion builds around a 2.5mm semi-gloss carbon fibre chassis that offers added stiffness and better scratch resistance than PSM’s well-known glossy carbon and it is designed around the use of the so called “shorty” 2S LiPo battery packs. A special feature is the airmount system for the battery pack, basically a “floating battery” mount that does not affect the flex of the chassis for equal cornering characteristics in both left and right bends. The battery mount weights in at only 25g and an included transversal carbon chassis stiffener optimises the flex characteristic of the chassis. The chassis conversion is designed for low to medium-grip tracks and it is available from now on.

PSM introduce the floating battery mount

PSM introduce the floating battery mount

German company PSM are known for their innovative after market option parts and while working on the a shorty LiPo battery chassis conversion kit for the Yokomo B-Max4 III, Stefan of PSM came up with the idea of a floating battery mount. While the buggy offers a floating servo mount from stock, an idea adopted from the electric touring cars, taking away the influence of the battery on the twist of the chassis seems like a new approach to get every little bit of performance and predictability out of the 1/10th scale buggies, especially since a carbon fibre chassis, such as the upcoming shorty pack conversion, offers more flex compared to the kit’s aluminium chassis. From what is understood PSM is testing different configurations of the mount at the moment and we keep you up to date with the progress.

Smokem BD7-IIX carbon fibre main chassis plate

Smokem BD7-IIX carbon fibre main chassis plate

Made for the Yokomo BD7 and BD7 2014 is the BD7-IIX chassis from Smokem Racing. On the back of the success of their 418-IIX chassis at various international events in recent months, Smokem now launches the latest iteration of their IIX design for the Yokomo BD7 electric tourers. The chassis utilises a proprietary 2.0mm thick “Pro-Weave” pure carbon fibre construction – which is stiffer than conventional weave but softer than a quasi weave. Together with its smooth contoured design, the BD7-IIX chassis provides improved flex characteristics while the thinner construction delivers a lowered centre of gravity for improved corner speed over a wider range of track conditions.

Yokomo 1/10th buggy carpet spring sets

Yokomo 1/10th buggy carpet spring sets

Yokomo introduce new 1/10th big bore shock absorber springs under their new Yatabe Arena brand. Designed under the supervision of Shin Adachi, the springs are developed to improve handling on artificial high-bite surfaces such as astroturf and carpet. The springs are shorter in length compared to the stock B-Max2 and B-Max4 springs to allow for a lower ride height, they reduce traction rolling and improve the handling over jumps and while landing. The colour-coded springs will become available end of June, beginning of July in five different hardnesses for the front and four for the rear.
