Associated RC18T Foam Tires & 48P Pinions

Associated RC18T Foam Tires & 48P Pinions

Team Associated have released these new RC18T foam tires that have a 4mm larger wheel diameter than their predecessors. The larger wheel gives the best of both worlds for foam tire racing, a reduced sidewall height while keeping the correct tire outer diameter. The reduced sidewall results in improved steering consistency through the corners while maintaining forward traction. Racers no longer need to ‘true’ the foam tire down to an incorrect outer diameter just to achieve less foam on the sidewall. Associated have also released a range of nine new 48-pitch pinion gears from 27T–35T to enlarge your gearing options. More teeth equals more top end speed.

The new 2mm FRP Suspension set works with the F103RM and adds a very precise pivoting connection between the t-bar and single piece rear motor mount. The system is connected by bearings so the up and down action is now very precise and doesn’t effect the twist of the t-bar. Sold in a set, it includes everything in the picture above.

X Factory Transmission Shims get upgrade

X Factory Transmission Shims get upgrade

X-Factory have announced new shims for the height-adjustable transmission in the X-6 Squared, X-60, and original X-6, which claim to be a big improvement over the original versions. These new shims are made of aluminium and so are lighter than the original steel version, they have also been anodized and have four different colours for easier identification. Chazz Sinclair, company president, said, “We’re able to hold better tolerances with the aluminium, especially in the smallest size, .030″. We continue to have the only height-adjustable transmission on the market, and the difference just .030″ makes in side bite & forward bite is incredible. The cool thing is that we’ve been able to lower the price by about 1/3 for lighter, better shims.” The new shims have been in all X-6 Squared Kits shipped since April 24 and will be in the X-60 by mid-May. All original #5700 shims are gone, so all #5700s shipped from now on will be the new parts.

Xray T2 Closed Ball joint assembly

Xray T2 Closed Ball joint assembly

Xray have released a new closed ball joint assembly for their T2 line of touring cars. Part of the assembly includes new threaded 4.9mm ball ends with a 6mm and 8mm thread for rear and front suspension respectively to replace the ball & screw assembly. These balls are great for use with closed composite ball joints but also work with standard open ball joints. Those new closed composite steering ball-joints fits 5mm pivot balls or ball studs. The closed ball joint prevents dust from getting onto the ball end, allowing the upper camber links to move more freely.
