LRP have introduced the updated iX8 V2 brushless speed controller for 1/8th scale applications. The second generation of this competition speedo features new hardware components and the v2.6 Team firmware. Overall the controller will stay cooler during the run for more consistent performance and improved brake control which is further helped by the new BR2 brake setting. For a faster take off the ESC’s software also comes with new and more aggressive Initial Drive settings. The package is rounded out by a full set of accessories including a fan unit and pre-soldered power wires.

Coming from Reflex Racing and made for a range of touring cars including the Xray T4 are several shock spring sets. First up is the 20mm Progressive Spring set for the Xray T4. Progressive springs generate more traction than linear springs due to the dynamic of the compression of the spring. Early in the compression, when the spring needs to be soft to provide bite, they are softer and later in the roll, they stiffen up to provide more exit and on power traction and steering. The set comprises of three different rates of Yellow 13.0-14.0 lb/in, Gold 14.0-15.0 lb/in and Silver 15.0-16.0 lb/in.

MD Racing Formula E bodyshell – Preview

Spanish company MD Racing have first images of their forthcoming Formula E bodyshell for 1/10th formula cars available. Adapting the look of the current crop of Formula E electric race cars the body sports partly covered rear wheels and flowing contours. Beside the body there will also be suitable front and rear wings available in the future as well as a complete car kit. Overall the body, which will become available within the next couple of weeks, provides a faster and more stable car especially on high-speed tracks.

Novarossi BK15SL3 3-port bike engine

New from Novarossi comes the BK15SL3 nitro engine for radio controlled bikes. The 2.49cc short stroke engine is of a 3-port design and features a 11.5mm turbo crankshaft, 6.5mm aluminium carburettor and a starter adapter plate from stock. The crankshaft is manufactured with a larger bore intake to increase the mixture flow while the special shape makes for optimised gas flow within the engine.

Avid’s Satellite 2.2″ disc wheels are now also available in a limited edition black colour variant. Coming as 2WD front and 2WD/4WD rear variant the wheels feature a 12mm hex, making them usable for all Team Associated B5 and Kyosho RB6 buggies. The durable and light wheels sport an angled glue catch bead, contoured inner wheel spokes and a swirl pattern that is designed to mate with serrated locking nuts to keep the wheels secure. MCD Micro Stud V2 large scale tyres

MCD have introduced the Micro Stud V2 tyre for large scale off-road buggies. Following an extensive optimisation process the tyres are now even lighter, weighing in at only 150g, saving around 25 percent of weight per tyre and thus scrubbing a total of 200g per set without sacrificing handling and durability. The 180mm tyres are available in a soft and medium rubber compound.

Avid TC6.2 aluminium chassis plate

Coming from Avid and made for the Team Associated TC6.2 is an optional aluminium main chassis plate. Machined from 2mm 7075-T6 aluminium the chassis offers higher rigidity than the stock carbon fibre chassis, making it especially useful on high to medium-bite surfaces while allowing the suspension brackets to be mounted lower at the same time. Avid signature “herringbone” cut-outs lower the overall weight and give the chassis a unique look while the narrow 84mm width allows for more ground clearance in corners. The chassis comes black anodised, with machined silver edges and laser-etched Avid logos for easy identification.

Tekno carbon fibre shock towers & wheel wrench

Tekno RC have new optional shock towers for the EB48SL and the SCT410.3 as well as a 17mm wheel wrench and shock cap tool available. Starting with the shock towers, coming for the front and rear of the company’s 1/10th short course truck and 1/8th super light buggy, the towers are are made from super tough 5mm carbon material and they are 6mm lower than the stock parts for a lower centre of gravity and thus improved handling. Scrubbing 6 grams of weight per tower they also make for a lower overall weight and they should only be used with the TKR5516 front suspension arms and TKR5515 rear suspension arms.
