ECX 1.9 Barrage 4WD 1/12th scale crawler kit

Horizon Hobby have introduced the ECX 1.9 Barrage 4WD scaler BTD build-to-drive kit. Using the same “pre-built critical parts” formula and manual guidelines as the successful ECX AMP MT BTD Kit, the ECX 1.9 Barrage 4WD scaler comes with everything needed to get started, including the tools, parts, and electronics. It even comes with its differential, shocks, and wheels assembled. Perfect for the backyard, the park, desert or driveway, the kit version differs from the RTR version by the motor plate for larger 390 motors, equalling more power and torque, the kit includes longer axles and housings for less wheel scrub and better handling, an aluminium servo mount makes for more servo options, 4-point links improve articulation and stronger aluminium steering links up overall durability. Also included are outboard shocks that are moved to the outside of the chassis for better handling, articulation, realism and looks. The kit is rounded out by a transmitter, batteries and charger.

Tamiya TB Evo.7 – Detail images

Following a first teaser Tamiya have released more images of their forthcoming TB Evo.7 1/10th electric touring car. The company’s top-of-the-foodchain shaft-driven tourer will feature a versatile chassis construction with the alloy main chassis being able to accommodate a total of three different motor and battery layouts. First up is a “forward” motor position with standard-size battery compartment, the second is a “mid” motor layout, shown here for the use with shorty-type batteries and last but not least comes a rear motor variant with the servo and motor sitting on the opposite size compared to usual shaft driven cars. The kit will also feature a “reverse-type” steering system with the steering bellcranks facing backwards. Part of the package are also TRF418 suspension arms, TRF419-type rear uprights, TRF super short shock absorbers and a 6mm thick centre stiffener for increased pitch damping but flexible torsional characteristics.
