Yokomo BD8 1/10th 4WD touring car kit

Yokomo BD8 1/10th 4WD touring car kit

Yokomo’s World Championship winning BD8 1/10th 4WD electric touring car will be released by end of October, according to the Japanese manufacturer. Successful at this year’s IFMAR Worlds in China in the hands of Germany’s Ronald Völker the car utilises a range of improvements over the previous BD7 platform with a new centre aligned front belt improving the car’s balance and smoothness during acceleration. The drivetrain features a 1-piece 20T centre pulley that takes both the front and rear belt while a new motor mount and flex system moves the motor more inboard, again to achieve an optimised weight balance. The motor mount is also smaller for reduced weight and a new lower mounting pattern improves chassis flex for increased grip and corner speed.

Schumacher Eclipse – Teaser

Schumacher have released a first teaser of their new, Eclipse called project. More information will unfold soon but looking at the graphic elements we would guess it is a car project and possibly an electric-powered GT or LMP vehicle, with our bet being either a basic 1/8th electric or competition 1/12th scale kit.

Axial SMT10 Max-D Monster Jam 1/10th scale RTR truck

Axial SMT10 Max-D Monster Jam 1/10th scale RTR truck.

Based on Axial’s new SMT10 1/10th scale 4WD monster truck chassis comes the Max-D Monster Jam truck. Since 2003, the full-scale MAX-D has won 11 Monster Jam World Finals championships and brought crowds to their feet with daredevil manoeuvres and non-stop excitement. Amongst a lineup of Monster Jam trucks, the low slung futuristic SUV body with yellow, red and silver paint scheme combined with chrome spikes is an instant grabber. Coming back to its 1/10th scale sibling, the kit was developed for maximum strength and an extremely detailed appearance. The chassis offers many pivot points for suspension tuning while realism and strength are achieved through triangulation of the chassis tubes, making it ready for maximum attack and hardcore Monster Truck bashing. Part of the package are also the AR60 OCP-Axles that are constructed from high strength composite material which has a low flex rate but is not as brittle as standard glass filled nylon. The combination of these axles and a true 4-link suspension gives optimal performance for any terrain with the look of a real full-scale vehicle.

Serpent Project 4X 1/10th 4WD touring car kit

Serpent Project 4X 1/10th 4WD touring car kit

Serpent’s long-awaited Project 4X 1/10th 4WD electric touring car kit is finally ready for release. The revolutionary car that finished third overall in the hands of Serpent’s Viktor Wilck at this year’s IFMAR Electric On-road World Championships utilises many unique features that make for a very low centre of gravity while being easy to work on and reliable at the same time. The car makes use of a new suspension design that allows to adjust chassis roll and pitch independently for increased corner speeds and exceptional bump track handling. Sporting only one heave/pitch damper in the front and rear, the pull-rod actuated units are very small and thus light of weight while their mounting position just above the chassis makes for a low centre of gravity. The heave dampers affect mainly bump and on/off-throttle handling and they are easy to reach from the bottom of the chassis for convenient setup and maintenance tasks. The ride height settings are performed using a simple one-screw setup. The rocker and pull-rod system is ball-raced for highly precise damper action and a low wear.

Xray X12'17 1/12th scale pan car kit

Just in time for the forthcoming indoor season Xray have introduced the 2017 variant of their successful X12 1/12th scale pan car kit. Building on the multi-time national and European Championship winning X12 platform, the 2017 variant features a sensible amount of refinements and new features with the car being based on a new 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis that is of a narrower design to reduce chassis scrub during hard cornering and to achieve a more centralised weight distribution. Despite its narrow width the chassis still allows for transversally or inline mounted battery packs, giving a range of weight distribution options for both lower and higher bite tracks.

Kyosho Lazer ZX6.6 4WD off-road buggy kit

Kyosho Lazer ZX6.6 4WD off-road buggy kit

Following the introduction of the Ultima RB6.6 Kyosho have now announced the soon release of the upgraded Lazer ZX6.6 4WD kit. The buggy is designed to meet the increased demands of the modern racing scene for more power and higher grip. For increased traction and stability on high grip surfaces, the optional aluminium HD main chassis is included as standard. Changes around the centre gear from the slipper clutch to the diff realise smooth traction on all surface conditions and in addition, the introduction of the gullwing type rear suspension arms from the RB6.6 allows longer shock stroke for improved surface tracing through corners and performance over surface gaps. These changes combine to lift the overall performance and result in an improved total balance of the machine. The kit will hit stores in November.
