Reflex Racing RR12V2 1/12th scale pan car kit

Reflex Racing RR12V2 1/12th scale pan car kit

Following the recent introduction of the RSD RR12V2 conversion kit, Reflex Racing now also released information on the RR12V2 full kit. The car is based on a new chassis made of 2.3mm quasi weave carbon fibre for improved stiffness, a lower weight and a lower centre of gravity. An updated pod geometry with the pivot 2mm further forward provides more corner speed and less lift while allowing for more aggressive settings. Also new is the battery securing systems that provides tape-less transverse of inline mounting of the 1S pack. Another new feature is a revised side spring placement with optional, more in board positions to aid in a softer roll control for high bite conditions. Lastly, the new front end is Reflex Racing’s icing on the cake. A new, light weight double A-arm front end is included in the kit. This system is incorporating a suspension system that is 10 to 15g lighter than the traditional AE front ends, it is easier to adjust and versatile enough to run as a double A-arm or traditional reverse McPherson strut. The car will be offered in two trims, as full kit minus electronics, wheels, tires, servo saver and fluids and also as full conversion including RSD front end. The latter needs a donor car for diff, tubes, shock, and ball ends.

Xray X12’16 1/12th scale pan car kit

Xray X12'16 1/12th scale pan car kit

Xray have officially introduced the 2016 specification X12 1/12th scale pan car kit. As explained by Alexander Hagberg in our exclusive interview and making-off feature, the car features some subtle changes and refinements to create a car that is faster and easier to maintain and setup. The backbone of the 2016 car is a redesigned 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis with optimised flex characteristics to allow for precise handling while being soft enough to generate the grip needed. Pre-drilled mounting positions for composite battery stops help to securely fasten 1S LiPo batteries both in a longitudinal and transversal position and the high-grade graphite material generates perfect stiffness for both for indoor carpet and outdoor asphalt racing.

Schumacher CAT-K2 4wd buggy

Schumacher CAT-K2 4wd buggy

At this weekend’s 2015/16 EOS season opener at the Nurburgring in Germany newly crowned European Champion and top Schumacher driver Michal Orlowski is debuting the new Schumacher 4WD Buggy, called CAT-K2. The main goal in developing the car has been transferring the weight distribution concept from their 2WD on to the new 4WD buggy, keeping the motor centred and moving it as forward as possible while obtaining a narrower car. The layout also allows the user to choose from 5 different battery positions, using a saddle pack or a shorty. The transmission is now completely straight and allows the use of the FAB (Front Adjustable Brake) System, while on the suspension only some small details have been changed.

RSD RR12V2 carbon upgrade kit

RSD RR12V2 carbon upgrade kit

Reflex Racing have introduced the RSD RR12V2 carbon upgrade kit that comprises of all new carbon parts to convert the RR12 car to the new geometry the team has been running. The kit allows the car to have a wider set up window, it generates more corner speed and is simply faster than the V1. Included with the kit come new thinner 2.3mm quasi weave carbon parts that are lighter yet stronger than the standard weave 2.5mm parts. Since the parts are thinner they also help lowering the centre of gravity. A new pod geometry with the pivot 2mm further forward provides more corner speed and less lift while allowing for more aggressive settings. The car’s battery holding system, whether in transverse of inline, has been revised to provide tape-less solutions and more secure holding of the battery. All shapes have been optimised for clearance, flex and ease of use and last but not least the side springs now have optional, more in board positions, to aid in a softer roll control for high-bite conditions.

Tekno NT48.3 1/8th nitro truggy kit

Tekno NT48.3 1/8th nitro truggy kit

The latest in the line of Tekno’s .3 vehicles is the NT48.3 nitro truggy kit. Designed to be faster, nimbler and easier to drive, the truck is based on a new chassis with eliminated rear engine configuration for optimised handling and flex characteristics of the front engine layout. This also improves the gear mesh between the clutch bell and new 46t spur gear and also helped to calm the rear of the car. Also new are larger, fully CNC machined, hardened, and ground discs to replace the old parts. Improved semi-metallic brake pads are now separated by springs to ensure the brakes are only engaged when the driver want them to be. The biggest change made to the brakes however, is with the linkage for better consistency and easier brake bias adjustments.

Team Corally 1/10th formula car coming in 2016

Team Corally have released first renderings of their forthcoming 1/10th scale formula kit. The car is currently in prototype stages with the release being planned for the 2016 season. Nothing is known yet in terms of specifications and features but by the look of things the car is based on a class-standard carbon fibre chassis, it features sheet material front A-arms, dual roll dampers, it utilises an inline and transversal battery position and a standard link-type rear suspension. We will bring you more information as soon as they become available.

ECX Torment & Ruckus 1/24th scale RTR trucks

ECX Torment & Ruckus 1/24th scale RTR trucks

Coming soon from Horizon Hobby are two new 1/24th scale RTR trucks. First up is the Torment short course truck featuring all-wheel drive and a tough nylon composite chassis. Oil-filled shock absorbers smooth out the ride over ruts, bump and jumps while grippy all-terrain tyres make for great forward and side bite. The chassis sports a bottom-loading battery compartment for the included 220mAh 6-cell NiMH battery and the factory-installed receiver and speed controller combo is coupled to a powerful brushed motor. Topping all of this off is a pre-painted bodyshell which is available in two different colour variants. The fully ready-to-run package is rounded out by a 2.4GHz radio system and an USB charger. Beside the Torment ECX also has the Ruckus monster truck to offer that uses the same chassis while sporting a pick-up style body and a larger wheel and tyre combo.
