WRC F-One ‘014 kit & STX option parts

WRC F-One '014 kit & STX option parts

Italian company WRC Racing introduce their latest formula 1 kit in the form of the F-One ‘014 as well as new option parts for the STX touring car. Starting with the kit, information about the exact features are not available yet but looking at the renderings the car received quite a makeover compared to its predecessor with new front suspension parts that now feature vertical lower and horizontally mounted upper pivot balls, the steering is of a single bellcrank design with the steering links sitting very low as does the bellcrank thanks to a special design where the servo links attach from above while the actual steering lever sits below in a mid-deck. The main chassis place is cut from carbon fibre and very short, compared to the usual designs as the front of the chassis is made up by a separate parts that houses a low-profile steering servo and the steering assembly. The battery compartment takes a 2S shorty pack and the rear motor pod also looks redesigned but we have to await official information on the full features.

Kyosho ZX6 4WD buggy – First images

KyoshoZX6-7

Kyosho have released first official images of their forthcoming ZX6 1/10th electric 4WD buggy. The follow-up model of the popular Lazer ZX5 was in development for some time now but never allowed to become photographed on races, although some spy shots floated around the internet. The buggy is based around a machined 7075 aluminium chassis that allows for a front or rear motor configuration while making use of a 2S shorty LiPo battery pack. The adjustable battery mount also allows to use saddle pack batteries from what is understaff. The suspension arm mounts are machined aluminium pieces with composite inserts to alter the suspension geometry. Other moulded composite parts include the front and rear shock towers, chassis braces, and chassis side pods. Depending on the motor position the steering servo is mounted in -line or vertically while the centre driveshafts make use of a standard “dog bone” design. We bring you more information and a release date of the new kit as soon as they become available.

Tamiya TB Evo.6 & TB-04 Pro II

Tamiya Japan released first images of their forthcoming TB Evo.6 and TB-04 Pro II shaft-driven 4WD touring car kits. Seen as renderings some time ago, the TB Evo.6 marks the latest evolution step of the company’s competition TB Evolution line of chassis. Based on a 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis and coming with a 2mm upper deck, the kit features a transversally mounted motor to overcome the negative “torque steering” effects of a longitudinally mounted motor. Other features include low-profile aluminium shock absorbers, aluminium shock tower brackets, a floating servo mount and suspension components taken over from the TRF418 kit. The TB Evo.6 is set for a release around end of June.

MD Racing electric touring car – Teaser

MD Racing electric touring car – Teaser

Spanish company MD Racing have released first teaser images of their forthcoming electric touring car kit. The car is a mix of new and already proven ideas with the A-arms being of a pivot ball design over the more common C-hub/rear hub construction with suspension pins, while the upper deck is mounted vertically within the chassis. The steering is of an adjustable tail-type design and the bulkheads allow to remove the front and rear axle/differential without disturbing the shocks or shock tower settings as the shock tower brackets are part of the bulkheads and not the bulkhead covers. It is understood that the first prototypes are ready to hit the track in around 3 weeks. We bring you more information on the car as soon as they become available.
