US Yokomo distributors A Main Hobbies just released first images on the upcoming B-Max4 III 4WD buggy. The updated kit will feature a topdeck-less  aluminium chassis instead of a plastic tub chassis as used on the previous model. The drive train and slipper are also redesigned, the servo mount appears to be of a floating design as seen on electric touring cars these days and the kit will include carbon fibre shock towers, 12mm wheel hex adapters and a reduced amount of fasteners to make for a reduced all-up weight. More details will be released soon.

T.O.P. introduce the Sabre 4WD Mini electric touring car kit. Designed for true 4WD mini enthusiasts the chassis offers all setup features of a full-size electric touring car in a compact yet strong carbon fibre chassis with aluminium alloy components. Heavy duty front and rear gear differentials come standard with the kit as is a fine-tuneable Ackermann steering system. Other features include aluminium front, rear and middle bulkheads, all-aluminium threaded shock absorbers and aluminium suspension mounts. The car is set for a release this Fall.

Tamiya announce re-released Egress 4WD buggy

Following the re-release of the iconic Avante 4WD buggy in 2011 Tamiya is set to unveil the not-less iconic Egress buggy during next month’s Tokyo Hobby Show. Introduced in 1989 the Egress was the sister model of the Avante and featured a slightly simplified but longer wheelbase suspension, Platinum hi-cap shocks, full ball bearings and graphite chassis plates along alloy and titanium hardware. No definite details are known yet but we bring you updates no the release as soon as additional information is available.

Hot Bodies R8 1/8th on-road car – Sneak Peek

After introducing the R10 200mm nitro on-road kit last year Hot Bodies now also re-enters the 1/8th class with the R8. Not much is known about the car that made a first appearance on the Facebook wall of Hot Bodies’ factory driver Teemu Leino today. By looking at the picture the car is of a pretty standard design with a slim main chassis, carbon fibre upper deck, front aluminium upper wishbone mounts but a standard front ‘blade’-type anti-roll bar whereas many of the competitors use wire-type assemblies today. It is understood that the R8 will make a first public appearance at next month’s World Championships in Japan.

First Tamiya TRF418 CAD renderings

Some days ago we brought you first information about Tamiya’s forthcoming TRF418 touring car and now here are what appear to be first renderings of the new generation chassis. The images in question showed up on the Kentech blog and depict a massively revised platform with a new main chassis and upper deck, new A arms and suspension mounts, new pivot ball anti-roll bars and an updated motor mount and layshaft brace. The kit will also feature 20T layshaft pulleys for less power loss and new steering arms for a more linear steering feel. More information will be available next month when the car is set to be unveiled at the Tokyo Hobby Show.

Arrma has upgraded their line of 2WD off-road vehicles and introduce the BLX series brushless and LiPo-powered 2013 variants. Available as desert and race buggy, short course, desert, stadium and monster truck the vehicles base on a proofed vertical chassis construction and feature a tough 2WD gear box, long travel suspension components and dedicated wheels equipped with dBoots off-road tyres. The BLX buggies and trucks come factory-assembled with a 3S-compatible 3600kv brushless system with 4-pole motor and waterproof speed controller as well as a 7kg waterproof steering servo, 2.4GHz radio system, a Deans Ultra Plug equipped 7.4V 4000mAh LiPo battery and a 2S to 3S balance LiPo charger.

Tamiya is working on the TRF418

According to tamiyablog.com Japanese manufacturer Tamiya is currently working on the follow-up model of the highly successful TRF417 platform. It is understood that the company’s next generation electric touring car will hit the light of the day at next month’s Tokyo Hobby Show. Unofficial information have it that the kit will feature a new main chassis, new servo mount and suspension arms, new anti-roll bars as well as completely new front, centre and rear bulkheads. The photo above unfortunately is not showing the forthcoming car but we bring you more information as we get it.

Tekno EB48.2 1/8th electric buggy kit

Tekno RC introduce the EB48.2 electric 1/8th off-road buggy kit. The vehicle features many performance and durability enhancing parts such as XT suspension arms, 1.5 degree rear toe plate new 0.5 degree offset insert, new shock cartridges and updated shock bushings. The differentials have been overhauled with new cross-pins and internal gears as well as new straight cut CNC diff ring and pinion gears. The new gears are quieter, smoother and more efficient than previous gears and feature lightweight cutouts to reduce rotating mass. Lightened differential outdrives and the lightened aluminium centre driveshaft are now standard as well. Tekno’s new angled rear gearbox and larger bearings round out the driveline improvements. Up front the EB48.2 features a new HD servo saver spring which helps to keep you pointing in the right direction. Lightened steering posts as well as lightened suspension sleeves help reduce weight without any sacrifice in durability and aluminium hard anodised pivot balls are used throughout in the kit that is available now.
