Xray T3 Electric Touring car

Xray T3 Electric Touring car

Xray have released the full details on their all new touring car platform, the T3. With fast-paced rule changes in the electric touring car class, the main focus of the T3 was to design the car for brushless motors and especially for LiPo technology, to take on what the world can offer and outperform all others under any racing conditions or rules. Take your pick, asphalt, carpet, rubber or foam tires, NiMH or high-performance LiPo batteries, cutting-edge brushed or brushless motors, the T3 can handle them all and still dominate the competition in the process.

CEFX Griffin & Lithium chassis updates

New from Josh Cyrul’s CEFX is their new line pan cars that have been adapted from previous models to accept LiPo 1S packs. Currently in production are CEFX’s newest 12th and 10th WGT cars. Not to be confused with our previous Phoenix t-bar cars, the Griffin is now a link based car to adapt to the needs of 1S Lipo racing. Also receiving an update is the Lithium 1/10th Oval conversion kit which has received minor updates to maximize it’s potential for the switch from 2S to 1S LiPo batteries.

Xray T3 Touring Car platform

Xray T3 Touring Car platform

Xray have announced that they will be replacing their T2 platform with the T3 series at the beginning of next year. Having burst onto the electric touring car scene back in 2000, the company has only had 2 TC platforms in all those years, with the original T1 being replaced back in 2005 with the current series. No details were given but we are aware that the Factory team have been testing some new ideas and parts in previous months during races, and while we are sure the new car will have some nice innovations, I wouldn’t expect it to be miles away from the current platform’s configuration.

Could this be the new T3?

The Team Durango history

The Team Durango history

Further to our review of the new Team Durango DEX410 buggy we brought to you last week, here’s an insight into the history of one of the most innovative electric buggies to date. Those of you who have a certain interest in the 1/10 electric off-road class will of course know the names ‘Durango’ and ‘Gerd Strenge’ for some time now. Since the end of the 1990’s Gerd is designing and manufacturing electric, and nowadays nitro, off-road buggies.
