Diggity Designs XLR8-V2 Conversion

Diggity Designs XLR8-V2 Conversion

Diggity Designs new XLR8-V2 is a carbon fibre and aluminium conversion kit for the Associated TC3 and TC4. The V2 has a newly designed chassis, top-plate, LiPo brace and battery strap for optimzed LiPo and brushless racing. The chassis is narrower with the weight on the battery side moved back to level out the balance of the motor and electronics. The motor cutout is open to allow mounting of any brushless motor, while the LiPo brace can be mounted in one of three positions to help balance the kit out from left to right without adding lots of weight on the battery side. The V2 has a 2.5mm chassis, top-plate, LiPO brace and battery straps (instead of 3mm that is included with the original XLR8) along with 3mm front and rear shock towers. The new chassis and top-plate will help improve performance for asphalt but still keep its performance at top level for carpet racing.

Serpent test new 1:10 200mm car

serpent7xx11

Serpent confirmed that they have a new 1:10 nitro touring car on the way and have released some information about the successor of their 720.  On Wednesday professional Dutch driver Jilles Groskamp tested the car which is currently being referred to as the 7XX at the MACH track in the Netherlands.  Also on hand for the test was the car’s chief designer Michael Salven, who we understand recently tested the car himself in Asia. Serpent say the 7XX is a completely new concept and uses only the 2-speed, Centax clutch and RCC shocks from the previous model and test-results are very good with only minor modifications being required to the prototype.  The aim of Salven with the new car is to focus more than ever on a user-friendly design, ease of assembly, maintenance and set-up, and a wider sweet spot.  The 7XX will undergo more rigorous and intensive testing in various parts of the world, by Serpent’s team drivers like Green, Mazzeo, Apolaro, Morganti, Sahashi and Groskamp, but also by a number national level drivers for whom Serpent say their feedback is just as important!   Serpent plan to officially unveil their new car in 2 months time and are confident that it will be as well received as their latest 1:8 chassis the 966. Red RC have heard that the 7XX will make its race debut at the up coming Bumod Grand Prix with Groskamp and Apolaro set to use the Turkish event to get race mileage on the current prototype chassis.
