Xray T2’008 – Official information

Xray T2′008 - Official information

Xray have released the first official features list and photos from their new, soon to be released 190mm EP Touring car, the T2’008. As we already saw in the spy photographs of the car from earlier this month, the car featured some pretty big changes with a specific 5 cell European rubber version to come out as well as 2 separate 6 cell versions for both rubber and foam racers, to cater for the US market. The cars feature a lot of changes and are basically completely new with a lot of attention paid to weight distribution as well as the cars drive train but the main point is that they have created 3 purpose-designed editions to meet specific ROAR, EFRA, FEMCA regulations.

Speed Merchant Rev5 1/12th scale

Speed Merchant Rev5 1/12th scale

Current US National Champions Speed Merchant have announced the release of their latest 1/12th scale chassis, the Rev5, due for sale in the 2nd week of October. The car has a new rear pod design, that takes “easy access” to a new level, meaning you can literally drop in any motor, including brushless with a large pinion attached, with ease while the new pod plates have been machined from Delrin which offers huge weight savings. The car also feaures a new extensively tested “Formula” front end which has been created using linkages yet is sturdy enough to hold up to the speeds and forces generated in today’s cars. By supporting the top of the king pin with 2 balls, the upper link arm is very stiff and strong, and doesn’t move during a crash.

CEFX C12 BL 1/12th scale chassis

CEFX C12 BL 1/12th scale chassis

According to a statement by Josh Cyrul, top racer and designer of CEFX cars and parts, the company will stop trying to make their C12 1/12th scale chassis suitable for both brushed and brushless configurations as the changes needed to make the BL car competitive would compromise the cars setup in non BL configuration too much. Hence the C12 will stay as is and the company will further develop a specific BL version, the first picture of which is shown above.

I received some pictures of Martin Hudys Xray T2’008, taken at the Austria Masters in Steiregg, in my mail box while i was on holidays 2 weeks ago and presumed that they had already been spread around the internet while i was away. But reading through RC Tech it appears that people havent yet seen them so here they are. As you can see it has the belts placed on either side of the main spur gear as well as other small changes that i wont even pretend to know.
