Statement – JConcepts & Associated B44

Announcement - JConcepts and Associated B44

Just as the title says – On July 10, TTR/Associated announced the upcoming release of the new B44. This new vehicle is based on the BJ4 Worlds Edition and was a collaborative effort between TTR/Associated and JConcepts. The B44 was a collaborative project only. JConcepts remains an independent company, and our business will not change as a result of this collaboration. Both Jason and Brad have ties with Associated going back 15+ years. This has led to a close working relationship between Associated and JConcepts on the B44. JConcepts will continue to sell the BJ4 kits, parts and accessories to support new and existing customers. Look for more new and exciting products from JConcepts to fit the B44 and all Team Associated vehicles.

Team ART X1 Prototype buggy

Team ART X1 Prototype buggy

At the start of this week we showed you a picture of the new prototype X1 buggy, which is a conversion kit based on the Academy SB-V2 4wd buggy. Well today more information and pictures were released from the Korean company and it turns out that this buggy will be ready to be raced at this years IFMAR World Championship in Japan in September. We presume the car will be piloted by a Korean racer but that has yet to be announced. In the meantime you can have a look  at some close up pictures of the buggy and admire all the carbon fibre and purple anodising.

Yokomo SD12-TR Racing Truck

Yokomo SDTR-12 Racing Truck

We briefly wrote about this 1/12th scale 2wd truck from Yokomo, called the SD12-TR, back in April and at the time we didnt know much about the car other than the very basics. Today CML in the UK have released details, and lots of pictures from the truck.

Featuring championship-winning technology, the heaviest components of an electric R/C car such as the motor and battery, have been reduced in size for lighter weight. Powered by a high-power motor (included in kit: Yokomo Mini-Zero 290-27T) and a high power Yokomo Nickel Metal Hydride battery (sold seperately) high-performance running can be easily enjoyed in stock kit form.

Team ART Academy X1 conversion

Team ART Academy X1 conversion

Team ART have shown on their website, this prototype conversion for the Academy SB-V2 4wd buggy, and has participated with it in the recent Korean Nationals, placing 4th and showing the pace of this car. From the picture you can see that it appears to use the center from a HB Cyclone D4, with different carbon upper plate, while continuing to utilise the geometry and outward transmission from the SB-V2. This is presumably for better weight distribution as now the batteries saddle the center shaft and the motor and center gear assembly are further forward, the original SB-V2 features a rear mounted gear assembly and the batteries are mounted on 1 side.

UPDATE: Jimmy ‘the train spotter’ from oOple, has corrected me regarding the center assembly, that while it may look like the D4 / BJW assembly, it is in fact ‘completely’ different. We shall be running all of this stuff past his eagle eyes in the future.

Images have started to surface on the internet from the new 2wd buggy of Korean RC manufacturer, Academy. The picture above is from RC Tech and shows the complete car in CAD format and as we can see it features a moulded chassis with centrally mounted stick pack configuration while the front end sports a unique looking steering C-hub setup. Other pictures from our partners RC Forum (see below) show, the tub chassis in detail and close ups of the rear end of the car, which looks pretty conventional. No word has been given on the expected release date of this car, or even the name, but we will let you know when we find out.
