TLR 8ight-X Race Kit 1/8th nitro buggy kit

Following a couple of teaser images TLR have officially announced the forthcoming release of their brand new and completely redefined 1/8th off-road racing platform. The buggy utilises a new, wider chassis layout to aid in stability and to give the buggy a more neutral feel. New chassis guard have an improved fit on the chassis and a large footprint engine mount reduces flex underneath the engine to eliminate chassis fatigue on high traction race surfaces. Optimised chassis balance with the weight has been moved forward in the chassis provides a better driving balance to the vehicle while the updated radio tray now puts the throttle servo near the engine to eliminate additional linkage. The updated radio tray will ensure the throttle servo is rigidly mounted to avoid any flex by floating the servo off of the centre differential.

TLR 8ight X 1/8th nitro buggy – Coming soon

During this week’s ROAR Fuel Off-road Nationals in Lake City, Florida, JConcepts have snapped a first couple of images of TLR’s forthcoming 8ight X 1/8th scale nitro off-road buggy. The new kit was first seen during the recent Horizon RC Fest in Monticello, Illinois in the hands of TLR factory driver Dakotah Phend with the example in the new set of images belonging to veteran racer JR Mitch. The buggy is expected to become officially announced later this week and we bring you more information on the kit as soon as they become available.

Traxxas TRX-4 Sport 4WD RTR trail truck

Traxxas have introduced their new TRX-4 Sport 1/10th scale 4WD trail truck, the performance oriented variant of the popular TRX-4. The vehicle combines the ground clearance and driving dynamics of Traxxas portal axles, sticky Canyon Trail tyres, and a lightweight pickup truck body for a leaner, more performance-focused rig. The Sport’s unique bumpers, wheels, and body were designed for increased climbing versatility – whether it’s a fun trail run or a hardcore technical crawl. The truck builds on a heavy duty steel frame chassis with adjustable wheelbase, dual battery tray, floor pans, aluminium scale shocks and heavy-duty steel links and its driveline is equipped with portal axles, locked differentials, a steel gear transmission and hardened steel U-joints. The RTR set is rounded out by the new XL-5 HV speed controller, a Titan 21T 550-class brushed motor, a waterproof metal gear servo and a TQ 2-channel radio system. The truck is available in red or blue body shell colours very soon.

Tamiya Dancing Rider RTR set & chrome accessories

First seen during the recent Shizuoka Hobby Show and officially announced now are Tamiya’s forthcoming ready-to-run version of the T3-01 Dancing Rider trike as well as a load of chrome-plated accessories. As for the RTR kit, the 3-wheeler comes factory assembled, with a silver-painted body shell as well as 2.4GHz radio system. It is understood that, apart from being already built, the vehicle is of the same specification as the kit variant. New on the option part side of things and usable for both the kit and RTR kit are the four new chrome-plated sets that are available separately and as gear case A-parts and frame C-parts while the chrome plated front wheel and the M-Chassis compatible 11-spoke rear rims round out Tamiya’s bling package for the popular trike. All of the above items will become available in the second half of July.

Team Losi Racing show off new 8ight parts

During this weekend’s Horizon RC Fest in Monticello, Illinois Team Losi Racing’s Dakotah Phend is running an updated TLR 8ight buggy that sports a redesigned body shell and what appear to be new swaybar mounts and front C-hubs. The body is question looks like a reminiscence to the very first 8ight body while the anti-roll bar mounts seem to utilise ball bearings or at leat outer set collars to locate the swaybar wire and the C-hubs seem to offer an additional, lower mounting position for the camber link. We bring you more information on what may be a possible 8ight 5.0 kit as soon as they become available.

A powerful Dynamite brushless system provides ample power that’s completely manageable with the aid of the Active Vehicle Control AVC technology. PR Racing SC201 RTR short course truck

PR Racing have introduced their new SC201 1/10th 2WD mid-motor ready-to-run short course truck. The factory-assembled vehicle features large volume big bore shock absorbers, full ball bearings, and a mid-motor layout for best possible performance on a variety of surfaces. Steel CV-style driveshafts ensure reliable power supply with the truck coming with a pre-installed sensorless 3900kV brushless motor and and high-power speed controller. Other features include a 6kg-cm high speed steering servo, a 2-channel 2.4GHz radio system, and a clear body shell.
