Yeah Racing have a new high-performance fan unit available, the Typhoon Signal 10 Master Competition. Named after the strongest hurricane level in the Saffir Simpson Scale the 40mm unit is high-voltage compatible, allowing to use it with up to 8.4V input, it is dual ball-raced, comes with highly heat-resistant black silicone wires and a Futaba-style connector.

Trinity have introduced two new flat-style sensor cables in a bright purple colour. Available as 105mm and 170mm variant the cables feature industry-standard connectors, making them compatible to all current controllers and motors, and they are made using super-flexible wires, allowing for neat and easy installation.

Team Orion have released a first teaser image of their forthcoming competition brushless speed controller. By the looks of things the speedo in question will be the follow-up model of the successful R10.1 Pro 1/10th ESC with a new, compact 1/8th controller being possible also. HPI Racing have introduced the Flux MLH-2200 brushless motor and ELH-6S brushless speed controller for 1/8th scale vehicles. Starting with the motor, the 6S-compatible item utilises a machined aluminium case with eleven heat-radiating ribs to help with heat dissipation during demeaning on-track action. Rated at 2200kv the motor also features 10-gauge wires, massive 6.5mm gold-plated connectors and it is of a 4-pole design for high torque, quick acceleration and a stable power output. The sensorless 4274-class motor is usable in most 1/8th buggies and trucks and it is available soon.
LRP have officially announced their long-awaited new competition brushless speed controller, the FlowX. Follow-up model to the popular Flow, the all-new ESC (that we exclusively featured back in September) sports an all-aluminium case that comes in a new dark-blue anodising. The power wires are now of an all-black colour as are the flat receiver and switch wires all of which makes for a cool factory team appearance. Also new is the flat power capacitor board that makes for easier mounting. Inside the case the ESC houses new high-end FETs exclusively customised for LRP and a redesigned heavy duty power board with both features allowing for up to 220A constant current. Furthermore the controller features the new V4.1 firmware for easy on-board programming and a heavy-duty standard voltage 6V/6A BEC system. Included with the speedo comes an optional fan unit as well as two sets of alloy screws for standard as well as thicker heavy duty fans. The speed controller is set for a release at the beginning of January.
Kyosho have introduced the Le Mans 240S brushless speed controller. The ESC is housed in a compact cast aluminium case and it is designed for the use with 2S to 3S LiPo batteries and down to 13.5T sensored brushless motors. A widely enclosed design makes the 60A rated speedo ideal for off-road and on-road applications alike. The controller measures 37.5x31x18.5mm and it comes pre-wired with 14AWG wire and a T-plug connector.

As announced in Jason Ruona’s video interview with U.S. Hobbywing representative Ron Schuur, Hobbywing have introduced the XR10 Pro Stock Spec 1S brushless speed controller. Based off of the standard Pro Stock, the 1S variant is aimed specifically towards single-cell 1/12th and 1/10th scale racing. Housed in a compact aluminium case with heatsink upper section the controller features five pre-set profiles for the most common applications but it is also highly customisable using Hobbywings LCD programming box, PC interface or WiFi Express module and a mobile device. The built-in on/off switch reduces wiring work and data logging capability makes drivetrain setup more convenient. The 80A rated ESC is only usable with 1S LiPo or three to four cell NiMH packs and it features a switch mode 6V/7.4V BEC system, doing away with the need to use additional receiver battery packs.

Coming from 3DRC and made for LRP speed controllers using round diameter power capacitors is a 3-D-printed capacitor mount. The simple design allows to attach the mount using double sided tape while the capacitor is held in place using a M3x3mm set screw, making for a more secure mounting of the otherwise hard to attach capacitor. The mount is available through 3DRC’s Shapeways store.
