SJ Perfect Balancer

SJ Perfect Balancer

Japanese company Powers International have started selling this, what is effectively a voltage regulator, by SJ called the Perfect Balancer. Used for charging you Lipo cells (2-5 cells), it is connected between your normal charger and the battery and it equalizes the power going to the cells to ensure correct and complete charging. When not connected to your charger it can be used as a discharger, providing balanced and safe discharging between cells.

Powers International of Japan have released their own brand discharger, called suitably enough, the Perfect Discharger. This simple object plugs into your 4 to 8 cell battery pack, handling voltages of 4.8v to 9.6v, and discharges it at a rate of 1A and when the temperature gets too hot, it will automatically lower the discharge to 0.3A. When the pack is discharged it will automatically shut off and sound a beeper, as well as a light a built in LED, to tell you its done.

Dutch company Spintec have released the 2nd version of their Battery Manager, which is a conditioner for 4 to 8 cell packs that can discharge all your batteries to keep them in top shape whilst analysing their performance. The Battery Manager v2 conditions your pack for maximum power and runtime using 10A & 35A Coolflex current conditions while all the time keeping it cool and the built in cut-off voltage is adjustable between 0.8 to 1.1 Volt. Whats really neat on this new version of the Battery Manager is the large red-backlight display that gives you all the information such as total runtime, actual voltage, average voltage, total energy, capacity and internal resistance.

Atomic RC make a lot of parts for the serious Mini-Z racer and this is just one more of those essential compeition items. They have released this new discharger for AAA batteries which accepts up to 4 cells and automatically discharges at a rate of 0.1 to 2.5 Amps and the system also features an auto shut off which stops the discharge between 0.7 and 0.9 Volts.

Nosram Matrix and Stealth Evolution

Nosram have released details of 2 of their newly released products which were first shown at the toy fair in Nuernberg. First up is the Matrix Evolution speed controller that works with both brushed and brushless motors, can automatically detect between NiMH and Lipo batteries and utilizes their new XP2 software as well as featuring some other internal upgrades over the previous version. Nosram have also released their new Stealth Evolution charger that can handle LiPo, NiMh and NiCd cells with charging currents ranging from 0.1A to 10.0A and on top of that functions as a top end discharger too. The unit itself features a red backlight LED display, has an autostarting function with times set between 0-99 minutes and it can store 3 charger or discharging profiles to suit your different preferences.

Our Korean partner site RC Forum, once again has the scoop on the latest Much More discharger, the AAAD, which is designed for those racers that take their Mini-Z racing seriously. Made to accept AAA cells the system discharges each individual cell at a rate of 500mAh and cuts off at a preset 0.9v. It comes in this cool blue anodised casing and should look good on your pit table as well as aid performance.
