HPI Flux MLH-2200 BL motor & ELH-6S speed controller

HPI Racing have introduced the Flux MLH-2200 brushless motor and ELH-6S brushless speed controller for 1/8th scale vehicles. Starting with the motor, the 6S-compatible item utilises a machined aluminium case with eleven heat-radiating ribs to help with heat dissipation during demeaning on-track action. Rated at 2200kv the motor also features 10-gauge wires, massive 6.5mm gold-plated connectors and it is of a 4-pole design for high torque, quick acceleration and a stable power output. The sensorless 4274-class motor is usable in most 1/8th buggies and trucks and it is available soon.

Kyosho Le Mans 240S brushless motors

Available now from Kyosho are two new Le Mans 240S brushless motors. Both mimic the company’s iconic Le Mans 240S brushed motor that was a popular choice in the 1980’s with the modern brushless variant sporting the same red anodised front plate, silver main can and even the sticker design of the original brushed motor. The brushless motor is available in a 15.5T 4WD and a 19.5T 2WD variant all of which feature a side-mounted sensor port and heavy duty solder tabs.

SMC Totemic brushless stock motors

SMC have introduced their new Totemic brushless stock motors. Development focus has been on producing a solid platform that does not fade and still produces maximum output thanks to an optimised coil resistance. The Totemic family of motors include 13.5, 17.5 and 21.5 turn motors, each comes fitted with a 12.5mm rotor with the strongest magnets available. 12.3mm rotors are available for those looking for a bit more RPM. All motors come with pure copper solder tabs and collector ring, each gold plated for the best resistance and minimum oxidization. The motors are ROAR approved and available now.

Fenix 12th gear diff, X1 Ti front axles & 17.5T motor

Coming from Fenix Racing are several new parts such as a gear differential for 1/12th scale pan cars, a set of titanium front axles for the Xray X1 and a 17.5T brushless stock motor. Starting with the gear differential, the unit is based on Fenix’s poplar 1/10th gear diff and it features a Grade 5 titanium axle, ABEC 5 class 1/4×3/8×1/8 ball bearings and it utilises a 84T 64 pitch main gear. The prototype already showed some great performance with a 3rd place in the highly competitive 10.5T class at the recent Masters of Foam race in the hands of Jaques Libar.

Hobbywing XeRun 3652 & 3660 SD G2 sensored motors

Hobbywing have introduced their new XeRun 3652 and 3660 SD G2 sensored brushless motors. Equipped with a built-in chip that lets Hobbywing XR8 series brushless controllers recognise the motor, the system will provide improved performance and smoother control in sensored mode. The motor is housed in a machined aluminium case with heatsink design for optimised heat dissipation and the low cogging design with 4-pole/8-magnet setup reduces cogging for improved driving feel at lower speeds. This is further helped by a special hall sensor system that ensures clean and “error free” hall sensor output signals. On top of this the motors feature an adjustable mechanical timing in a 20 to 40 degree range and they use silicone O-ring seals for sensor port protection. The shorter 3652 motor is available as 3100kv to 6100kv variant with 3.175mm or 5.0mm output shaft while the longer 3660 variant comes in 3200kv to 4300kv specification, exclusively with 5mm output shaft.

Reedy 540-SL4 sensorless brushless motor

Reedy 540-SL4 sensorless brushless motor

Coming from Reedy is the 540-SL4 sensorless brushless motor for ready-to-run vehicles. Due to its 4-pole configuration, the motor offers high power, efficiency and reliability as it is needed for demanding RTR applications.  The 3300kV rating provides plenty of speed with 2S LiPo batteries but installing a 3S LiPo battery makes for even higher speeds. At the same time does a high-strength rotor provide plenty of torque and resists overheating better than 2-pole alternatives. The motor comes pre-wired with flexible silicone wires that ease wire routing in tight spaces and work in conjunction with 3.5mm bullet connectors to reduce power-robbing resistance and heat. The package is rounded out by triple insulated windings, a hardened steel shaft, and oversized ball bearings.
