Yokomo Zero 2 sport-level brushless motors

Yokomo Zero 2 sport-level brushless motors

Coming from Yokomo are the new Zero 2 series sport-level brushless motors. Featuring a newly designed and black anodised aluminium can the motors are available in a range of windings including 6.5T and 8.5T modified as well as 10.5T to 30.5T stock variants. The fully enclosed design without cooling openings result in a motor that requires very little maintenance even when operated in dusty conditions and the motors come pre-wired with bullet-type connectors, compatible with many entry and sport-level brushless speed controllers.

Maclan Racing MRR Team Edition brushless motors

Maclan Racing MRR Team Edition brushless motors

Maclan Racing have introduced the MRR Team Edition electric brushless motors. Based on the popular MRR platform the Team Edition utilises Japanese made steel stator material for the short stack style rotors. Custom-made copper wire also has a higher temperature threshold along with maximum diameter allowed by ROAR regulations. Overall the Team Edition has an average four percent lower internal resistance compared to the standard MRR series motors. Also part of the TE package are all-new hall sensors that are more accurate while offering a much higher speed polling rate which will provide quicker throttle response with higher top speeds. The hand-built motors will become available by late November.

Castle Creations sensored brushless motors

Castle Creations sensored brushless motors

Castle Creations have introduced a range of sensored brushless motors. Known for their popular sensorless “basher” motors, Castle now also steps into the highly competitive sensor game with several different sizes of motors. The range starts with the 41.1mm diameter 15xx-series motors such as the 1515 2200kv, 1512 2650kv and 1512 1800kv variant with the 1515 targeting towards 1/8th buggies, truggies and 1/10th monster trucks while the 1512-series is best suited for 1/8th on-road and off-road vehicles as well as 1/10th 4WD SC trucks.

Team Orion Vortex Ultimate Stock brushless motors

Team Orion Vortex Ultimate Stock brushless motors

Team Orion have released first information on their forthcoming Vortex Ultimate Stock brushless motors. Aimed at the ultra-competitive blinky stock racing the 540-size motors are developed in the USA from the ground up. They features a new high-power stator design, utilise low resistance copper windings and are built using a 3-piece low centre of gravity can design. The motors also feature a precision-balanced neodymium rotor, heavy duty pre-shaped solder tabs, widely adjustable timing and they are HV battery compatible. They are designed to meed IFMAR, ROAR and EFRA rules and they will soon be available in a 13.5T and 17.5T variant.

Team Powers Actinium V2 brushless motors

Team Powers Actinium V2 brushless motors

Team Powers have introduced the Actinium V2 brushless motors. The version 2 features a redesigned stator with lower resistance and improved power efficiency, which reduces the motor’s running temperature. The new case design incorporates an air flow convection system to keep motor temperatures down by 10 to 15 degrees. On top of this the new neodymium rotors produce a stronger magnetic field than the previous Actinium, by almost 10 percent, and they fade less at the end of a run for more power in the decisive moments of a main. The motor is rounded out by a new endbell design that has a greater range of timing, this gives the racer the ability to tailor the motor to his gearing and also changing track conditions. The V2 will become available in a range of modified and stock windings very soon.

Hobbywing EzRun Max10 ESC & 36xx sensorless motors

Hobbywing EzRun Max10 ESC & 36xx sensorless motors

Hobbywing have introduced the new EzRun Max10 sensorless brushless speed controller and the EzRun 3652 and 3660 G2 sensorless brushless motors. Starting with the controller, designed for bashers and fun racing, the Max10 utilises a range of protection features such as ESC capacitor thermal, water and also over temperature protection for the motor – the latter is taken care off by an additional wire that plugs right into motors such as the new EzRun 36xx G2 series. Furthermore the controller makes use of a heavy duty 6V/7.4V BEC system andit  sports a protected on/off switch to ensure reliability even in dusty conditions. The 3S LiPo-compatible speedo can be adjusted using the internal set button but also HW’s LED and LCD program box as well as the WiFi module.

Carisma V70R sensored micro brushless ESC & motor

Carisma V70R sensored micro brushless ESC & motor

Carisma have released first images and information on their all-new V70R sensored micro brushless speed controller and motor. Purpose-designed for 1/14th to 1/16th scale mini and micro buggies the speed controller is of very compact dimensions with the sensored design allowing for exceptional low-speed throttle smoothness and thus car control without sacrificing performance when it is needed. The software supports blinky and turbo timing options, meaning the speedo is usable in stock and open class racing and the throttle and brake settings can be fine-tuned to the driver’s liking. Depending on the gearing the controller can be used with up to 3S LiPo battery packs and it fully support Carima’s new Racing Mini sensored brushless motors that are available in a milder 4600kv variant and also as high-power 5350kv motor. The motors measure 24×43.6mm and they utilise a 3mm shaft. In addition a programming box is available separately for easy adjustment of the controller. The new motors already prove their performance by taking the top 3 spots at the recent MicroX race with the controller obtaining P2 and P3 overall in the hand of Craig Harris and Keith Robertson.
