GRP release innovative exhaust system

GRP FLS Exhaust Pipe

GRP have announced the release of their new innovative 3 chamber exhaust system for 3.5cc off road engines. The innovation isn’t the new titanium colored finish but instead with the fact that the need for springs in mounting the exhaust to the manifold is eliminated with a new patented locking system called FLS.

The main novelty is the FLS (Fast Link System), studied and patented by GRP worldwide. This new system eliminates the need for springs, gaskets between the manifold and the pipe. You simply insert them and twist and it locks into place. Not only the FLS is new but also the pipe is made from a harder material, titanium finishing and a true 3 chamber model, guranteeing high performance and low noise.

INS box by Novarossi

It seems Novarossi were sick of having to use either Serpent’s or Picco’s INS box on their engines so they decided to ~~copy~~ make their own version. Available in Novarossi blue, it sure stands out from the current crop of INS box’s with its funky colour and I’m sure it does what its meant to, but at the end of the day its just yet another copy of the original version Serpent spent so much money and effort initially researching.

TWF8 Engine break-in software

Our partner site Buggy-Sport.info has a piece about the new ‘revolutionary’ engine break-in software developed by Paco Raap over at TWF8.ws. The contraption in the picture above is simply the run in bench mounted to the starter box with the propeller driven through a full corner of a buggy.

With this software you can test clutches and show the graphs and data of transsitions, starting point of connection and slippage. All data will be saved as Excel file and can be view and worked over in a later stage or directly. It uses same PHIDGET device as the BISS and an extra DATAQ 158 USB datalogger with some extra electronics. It measures rpm engine, rpm clutch and engine temperature.

Nova RC Products cool weather head

Nova RC Products cool head

Shown on the right here is the previously available CNC machined cooling head from Nova RC Products. On the left is the new CNC machined cooling head that is to be used in cooler conditions were keeping heat in the engine is important, kind of a similar effect to when you see racers put tin foil around the engine head when its raining. Simple, effective and looks good too, kinda like Paris Hilton.
