Max Power TQ-S 2017 2.1cc nitro engine

Max Power keep updating their nitro engine line with the latest addition being the TQ-S 2017 2.1cc 1/10th scale engine. Changes made compared to the previous power plant include a new back plate with flow cuts, an updated timing and the sleeve features extra cut-outs for improved mixture flow. The engine is rounded out by a new, silver anodised cooling head for maximised cooling efficiency.

Reckward-Tuning glow plug inspection tool

RMV Deutschland have introduced the Reckward-Tuning glow plug inspection tool. Designed by Merlin Depta and made in Germany the tool allows to inspect all Turbo-style glow plugs in order to rate their condition and also parameters such as carburettor settings and more. The tool is pretty simple to use; screw in the glow plug, switch on the lighting and the included loupe will show the glow plug coil in 50-times magnification. Included with the tool comes a handy pouch for easy storage and transportation.

ProTek R/C turbo glow plugs

ProTek have introduced a new line of turbo glow plugs. Available in T3 ultra hot, T4 hot and T5 medium variants the glow plugs are tough and durable and they are perfectly suited for 1/8th scale race vehicles that use .21 to .28 size engines but they are also meant to be a viable option for .12 to .18 sized engines. The plugs are good for the use with a 10 percent to 35 percent nitro content.

With the 2016 IFMAR Nitro Buggy World Championships around the corner, RC Concept have introduced their latest MC5R Team limited edition engine. Made to the exact same specifications as the all-out factory team engines that the likes of Reno Savoya and Lee Martin will campaign in Las Vegas, the Team spec power plants will feature a lighter and DLC-coated crankshaft, a high-performance ceramic rear bearing and they come factory run-in by RC Concept. The engine comes including RC Concept’s 2133 pipe set, with an updated cooling head design compared to the images shown and it is limited to 100 pieces world-wide.

O.S. Speed Gold nitro engine glow plugs

O.S. Engines have introduced their new O.S. Speed Gold glow plugs. Building on the success of the recently introduced limited edition #80 plug the P3, P4, RP6 and RP7 turbo-style plugs complement the already existing range with the P3 and P4 offering improved low to middle-range power and quicker response to throttle inputs, allowing for quicker spool up and also more stable idling. The different idling characteristics will also be acoustically noticeable. As for the RP6 and RP7, both glow plugs will also offer improved low-end power and quicker spool-up. The glow plugs become available by October.

O.S. Speed B2102 low-profile buggy engine

On show during this week’s Tokyo Hobby Show is O.S. Engines’ new Speed B2102 3.5cc nitro buggy engine. The most noticeable part of the power plant is its low-profile cooling head that sits about 17mm lower than standard, making for a greatly lowered centre of gravity without sacrificing cooling performance. Also new to the B2102 are the carburettor, crankcase, combustion camber insert and more. The engine will become available from December as engine only or including a T2090SC muffler.

Reds Racing Factory Team Worlds Edition 2016 engine

Reds Racing have introduced the Factory Team Worlds Edition 2016 nitro off-road engine. The power plant is limited to 300 pieces world wide and was originally planned as a factory team edition only. Due to popular demand the engine is now also available to the public and ideal for all applications where high power, high torque and good fuel economy is required. Made to the same specifications as the engines of the Reds Racing factory team, racers can now enjoy the same power as Elliott Boots, Ryan Maifield, Cody King, Cole Ogden and Alex Zanchettin all of which will attend the Las Vegas based IFMAR 1/8th Nitro Buggy Worlds in about two weeks time. The Team Package includes the Worlds Edition engine, 2112 pipe, M manifold, and 6.5mm, 7.0mm, and 7.5mm venturi inserts with the engine featuring an innovative W-Spec porting, a specially balanced crankshaft and the power plant also sports the provenĀ  HCX horizontal carburettor and a brand-new cooling head design. The combo is available with or without Reds Racing clutch system and also pre-run-in by Mario Rossi or Race Ready serviced by Elliott Boots.

VS Racing VS-B01 .21 nitro off-road engine

VS Racing, the new brand of engine master Rody Roem, have introduced the O.S. based VS-B01 3.5cc off-road engine. It is understood that the power plant builds on O.S. Engines’s B2101 engine and it features a long-stroke design and a Rody Roem-tuned and a Tungsten-balanced 14mm crankshaft. Furthermore the 3-port engine utilises a VS spec carburettor with 6.5mm venturi, a VS spec combustion camber insert and comes with high-quality high-speed ball bearings front and rear. The specifications list is topped off by a 60mm 10-rib cooling head.
