NathoBuilds XB2 & XB4 carbon fibre options

NathoBuilds have released a number of new carbon fibre parts, for the Xray range of EP buggies but also this general purpose 2 in 1 turnbuckle and ball cup tool. The tool allows you to work on a number of 1/10th vehicles with either a 3mm or 4mm Turnbuckles and also has a built in ball cup holder that helps you to build and adjust your turnbuckles. For the Xray XB4’21 is this front top deck that helps keeps the front end rigid, perfect for improved steering in high grip tracks. Also for the same car is this o-ring battery strap that replaces the standard kit taps. The new parts firmly secures your battery, also allowing you to make adjustments on your shorty pack. A similar part is also available for the XB2, the o-ring battery strap is made from carbon fibre along with a 3D printed spacer, which replaces the standard kit taps. The o-ring holds your pack secure enough to keep it in place but also flexible enough to allow for the chassis to flex underneath. Finally for the XB2 is a carbon bulkhead brace, which is a direct replacement for the kit standard aluminium version.

TLR 22X-4 carbon fibre chassis

TLR have introduced this carbon fibre chassis for the 22X-4 4wd buggy. Weight is the best way to improve the performance of your 22X-4, making the buggy handle better, stay flatter, accelerate harder, brake quicker, land smoother and just go flat-out faster. The 22X-4 2.5mm aluminium chassis weighs around 115g, while the 22X-4 Carbon Chassis weights in at 75-77g – a weight savings of 38-40g. The massive 40g weight savings allows spec racers to run full-sized short batteries at near minimum weight. Unlike most off-road carbon fibre chassis that are cut from flat sheet carbon and require an aluminium front bulkhead for the chassis kick up, which effectively cancels out the weight savings, this carbon chassis is laid and includes the front chassis kick up in the carbon plate so no extra weight is added back on.

MiBorg M-chassis RCV driveshafts

Coming from MiBorg and made for the Tamiya M-chassis are the new RCV driveshafts. Utilising the design of full-scale cars the driveshafts use ceramic balls instead of cross pins to drive the wheel axle, which results in less vibration and more compacity compared with a double joint. This leads to a more predictable driving and in addition the wheel axles allow the use of pin-less wheel hex adapters for a better wheel concentricity. These driveshafts can be use on the rear, they bring more stability and a better control of the trajectories.
