Smokem XQ1 split lower aluminium bulkheads

Available soon from Smokem are new lower split design aluminium bulkheads for the Xpress XQ1. Offering vastly improved flex characteristics, the parts allow the car to generate improved grip while offering a wider tuning window. Another key difference to the stock bulkheads is the use of flanged bearings for mounting the swaybars to the bulkheads. This allows the bearings to be inserted from the centre of the car for easier installation and smoother operation. The bulkheads will be available as a complete set of four with bearings included as well as separately, and they suit both the standard XQ1 and mid-pulley converted XQ1.

Sunpadow Platin Series 5200mAh Slim Pack LiPo battery

Sunpadow have officially introduced their all-new Platin Series 5200mAh Slim Pack LiPo battery pack. Of a revolutionary new design the hardcase battery is only 36mm wide which is about 24 percent narrower than a traditional 47mm battery and at 5200mAh capacity the pack weighs in at only 246g, however the major benefit of the slim battery is a greatly improved weight balance compared to a standard size battery pack as it optimises the weight distribution especially of today’s mid-motor touring cars. The Slim Pack battery was used by Xray and Sunpadow factory driver, Bruno Coelho to win the Touring Modified class last weekend’s SIGP event in Xiamen, China in pretty dominant fashion. The battery measured 139x36x25.1mm, it is built using high-performance 65C/130C cells and with 5200mAh it offers more than enough runtime even for power-hungry modified classes.

RC-KleinKram T4’20 carbon fibre motor spacers

RC-KleinKram from Germany have introduced their new carbon fibre motor spacer set for the Xray T4 2020 touring car. The newly developed mid-motor car is known to having some top deck and motor clearance issues when running certain pinion and main gear combinations or when using specific motors with no or only a small chamfer on the front end plate. To overcome this, Xray advises to use small shims between the end plate and the motor mount to spacer the motor further away from the top deck. As this can be fiddly to perform and in order to better brace the motor against the motor mount, RC-KleinKram have designed compact 1-piece carbon fibre plates that not only are easier to install but they also allow for better distribution of the forces that can occur during a run. The set includes a machined 2.0mm and and a 3.0mm plate each with both being individually marked for easy identification.
