Destiny RX-10SR 2.0 4WD electric touring car kit

Destiny have officially unveiled their new RX-10SR 2.0 4WD electric touring car kit. The car makes use of a redesigned chassis, top deck and motor mount with a new layout shifting the motor further towards the front while retaining a somewhat rear positioned layshaft and main gear. The result of the updated weight balance are better steering response and cornering speeds. Also new for the 2.0 is an updated battery position and mount that allows to let the battery sit at an angle, further optimising the car’s overall balance. Other new features include ultra low profile shock absorbers with hard-coated aluminium shock bodies, updated front and rear carbon fibre shock towers to make use of the shorter shock absorbers as well as redesigned 7075 aluminium upper bulkhead covers with updated camber link positions. Also part of the package are high-grade suspension parts made by Xenon Racing and also front double joint spring steel driveshafts for chatter-free steering action. The kit comes including a 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis and it will hit stores very soon with an aluminium chassis variant also being on the horizon.

Bezerk T4’20 long arm chassis & front bumper brace

Bezerk have released first option parts for the all-new Xray T4 2020 touring car in the form of a long-arm-only carbon fibre chassis and a carbon fibre front bumper mount. Starting with the chassis, the designers felt that having the option for long and short arms can make the chassis a bit compromised in the strength department especially for the club racer. That is why the option to running the short arms was dropped and a few other holes for future parts were added. The ’19 front window brace holes have been added back, as well as a couple of extra holes towards the rear for the upcoming chassis braces that allow the use of forthcoming optionals.

RC Maker brass floating battery mounts & battery weight

Coming from RC Maker are new brass optional parts such as floating battery mounts for the Awesomatix A800, Yokomo BD9 and Xray T4 as well as a 33g LCG battery weight plate. Starting with the floating battery mounts, reducing external factors on chassis flex has always been RC Maker’s mission. Chassis flex is one of the most important and sensitive tuning options today, and thats why the company strongly believes it must take all measures to reduce the impact that the electronics may have on chassis flex. The battery is roughly 300g, with a fully flat base contacting the chassis. This, even though it may be loose on the car, will have a detrimental impact on chassis flex. RC Maker’s new brass battery holders float the battery off the deck, and drastically reduce the impact the battery has on the flex of the chassis. The Awesomatix specific mount attaches to all of the Awesomatix model battery mounts, both factory and aftermarket. The Awesomatix mount is also usable on the Xray T4 2017 to 2020 models using optional, non-plastic battery mounts. The Yokomo variant installs directly to both standard plastic, and optional aluminium Yokomo brand battery mounts.

Bezerk RC B6.1 series carbon fibre shock towers

Coming from Bezerk RC are new carbon fibre front and rear shock towers for the Team Associated B6.1 series of buggies. First up are the option rear towers for the B6.1 and B6.1D. With the laidback gearbox gaining popularity on track surfaces more in line with a standup gearbox, the trend among many B6.1 drivers is to shave the front of the rear arms and move them forward by up to 4mm. This modification creates a lot of sweep angle on the camber links which in turn can restrict the arm’s ability to wind up on power taking away grip. By relocating your camber link further forward to the tower this adds more forward traction. The B6.1 tower is a lower height variant of the B6.1D tower that is overall taller.

Awesomatix A800MMX 1/10th electric touring car kit

Awesomatix have introduced their new A800MMX 1/10th scale mid motor electric touring car kit. Further pushing the standard within the industry, Awesomatix created the MMCX mid-motor platform back in 2018, previously only available as conversion kit, featuring a farther forward centre pulley, equal length belts, and a longer suspension arm design. These features also characterise the new MMX full car kit and yield significant performance enhancements for all types of racing surfaces and grip levels. The primary improvements are the motor mount and top deck design, which offers fully symmetrical flex and a multitude of flex possibilities. By using special ST019 top deck screws to secure the top decks to the motor mount, there are several flex settings and combinations possible from very stiff to very soft, from aggressive to calm, and even from “fixed” to “moving” action. Additionally, the two piece design provides increased stability and longevity of the top deck itself. To further improve on the flex characteristics of the car, the designers created the new AM08-3 shock holder for the front end of the car. This shock holder is no longer connected to the bulkheads and allows more caster flex, and thus a more rigid damper position. The newly designed motor mount remains in the centre of the car, but a new design moves the motor 0.5mm further inwards to improve the left/right balance with today’s modern lightweight batteries. This also further reduces the polar moment of inertia. In addition to the new AT120XB 20T alloy pulley, Awesomatix added an advanced ball bearing anti-skip unit into the motor mount, directly under the pulley, to reduce the risk of belt skip. New for the MMX kit is an update to the pulley securing bolt that has been changed to M2.5 size and will use a 1.5mm hex driver.

Axon Core high-performance ball bearings oils

Coming from Axon is their new line of high-quality Core ball bearing oils. The lubricants are available in three different viscosities, helping to get the most out of new or used ball bearings. First up is the medium viscosity oil, a full synthetic lube that offers best possible life span, pressure resistance and heat resistance, making it ideal especially for nitro racing cars. Next up is the low viscosity soft oil that also offers very good heat and wear resistance while allowing to achieve higher speeds due to its lower viscosity. High pressure resistance ensures smooth bearing operation even at high rotational speeds. Last but not last comes the ultra-low viscosity super soft oil that offers near water-like flowing capabilities, making it ideal for all ultra-high performance applications such as 1/12th and 1/10th formula racing. It needs to be used more frequently, however it helps to extract the best performance out of a bearing due to offering the lowest natural drag. All lubricants come in new leak-proof bottles for convenient storage and application.
