Xceed RC TH1 Tire heater

Xceed RC have released the first in a new line of electronic products, aimed at the competition racer. The TH1 is a professional tire heater and features a strong case made from green and black anodized aluminium. Fully programmable, the front and rear tires can be set independently, with quick warming from 20 to 100℃, and all the functions are controlled through a front mounted main screen and padded buttons. The device is supplied with 4 aluminum cups and wires for use with rubber touring car tires.

GRP Gandini NOT sold to Chinese investor

GRP Gandini sold to Chinese investor

According to Italian newspaper ‘Il Sole 24 Ore’, engine and tire manufacturer GRP Gandini has been sold to a Chinese investor. The move follows some financial difficulties for the competition brand following bad months for sales in September and October. This led to the investment bank wanting out and so the owners, Stefano and Maurizio Gandini, were forced by the banks to sell the concern, which they started in 1994. The sale, said to be in the region of six million euros dollars, leaves the former owners no longer at the helm of the company, but both will stay on as technical advisors. It not confirmed whether the production will move to China where the paper claims production costs will be 1/3rd of that in Europe. We have contacted GRP for comment and will add their response when we get it.

UPDATE (17:52): The Gandini brothers have issued a statement (automatic translation) on an Italian forum saying they have not been sold and the whole story was a HUGE misunderstanding by the journalist who wrote the piece.

TC5 Tire Additive ‘Asphalt Jack’

Hot Bodies D8 chassis, tires & springs

Hot Bodies have released a number of new items for their World Champion D8 buggy, beginning with this lightweight machined chassis plate. Based on the standard chassis plate, it has been heavily machined to get it down to only 40 grams. A lighter chassis will not only improve steering response but also help with fuel economy, as the car will also be much lighter overall. Also new is a range of buggy tires, which are available in 3 different thread patterns, Block, Chaos and Mega Bite, and each comes in 3 varying compounds, red, blue and white. KM Racing Foam tire range

KM Racing have released a complete new range of 1/10th scale foam tires. Available on either 2mm offset Kyosho rims or 0mm offset Velocity rims, the high quality Italian foam is sold in a wide range of shores for both the front and rear. The front and rears come in 35, 37, 40 and 42 shore.
