MCD Racing 180mm Astro-Max tyres

MCD Racing 180mm Astro-Max tyres

MCD Racing’s popular Astro-Max tyres are soon also available in a 180mm diameter variant. Designed for astroturf tracks, the tyres offer an asymmetrical design with one sidewall featuring added ribs and an increased number of outside row pins while the other side offers a plain sidewall and less pins. This allows to adjust the corner characteristics and side bite to your liking. The tyres are meant to perform especially in wet conditions and they are available in white medium compound as tyres with inserts only or including disc wheels.

JConcepts Swaggers 4WD front tyre

JConcepts Swaggers 4WD front tyre

JConcepts have added the Swaggers 4WD front tyre to their range of dedicated carpet and astro turf tyres. The tyre has a multitude of heights and angular ribs for corner speed, consistency and straight-line tracking ability. They are designed for the width of a 4WD front wheels but will also fit a standard 2WD front wheel for increased grip when needed. The ultra low-profile carcass keeps a 4WD buggy very predictable and consistent in high-grip conditions while pointing the vehicle in the correct direction. Side-wall ribs in a circular pattern add to the exterior of the tyre to support high-grip racing. The pink compound marked with two pink dots on the tyre represents a new compound for JConcepts, a medium soft material with good wear characteristics.

Pro-Line 1/8 ElectroShot & 1/10 Positron tyres

Pro-Line 1/8 ElectroShot & 1/10 Positron tyres

Pro-Line have introduced the new ElectroShot 1/8th buggy and Positron 1/10th 2.2″ buggy rear tyres. Starting with the 1/8th scale offering, the ElectroShot made a first public appearance at this year’s IFMAR 1/8th Gas Buggy World Championships in Las Vegas. Coming from the mind of Ty Tessmann and designed to perform just like a HoleShot 2.0 while lasting significantly longer, the ElectroShot is combination of Pro-Line’s Electron and HoleShot tread designs with connected bars in the center where the heaviest tyre wear occurs. Connected bar-type tyres like Pro-Line’s new Positron have become the new standard for 1/10th buggy race tyres but pins are still the king of the 1:8 Off-Road. The ElectroShot begins to bridge that gap and test the waters with a hybrid Bar and Pin tyre. The ElectroShot will become available in a range of compounds including X2, X3, M3 and M4 and it includes blue closed cell inserts.

JConcepts Space Bars 1/10th buggy tires

JConcepts Space Bars 1/10th buggy tyres

JConcepts have introduced the new Space Bars 1/10th buggy tire. The 2.2″ offering is designed for the popular indoor track conditions where the surface is mostly built of clay soil and it was designed to excel when using mid-motor vehicles, on tracks with large jump conditions. The tread, originally based on the legendary Dirt Webs tire design, connects uniformly positioned Space Bars to create a stable tire. The design relies heavily on a larger format of the original Web pattern for massive forward acceleration. Inside the supported bar portion rests long horizontal and short vertical alternating bars which help balance side-bite and backs up the Space Bar feature to help minimize wear, helping to break-in quickly for competition but not wear out before that all important peak performance. The outer edges feature a tiny single rib on each side which proves extra side-bite during heavy cornering and side-loading characteristics. The Space Bar tread sits on a rounder profile carcass with a shorter side-wall which transitions quickly and lands and jumps with increased traction. The plump look of the wide-body tire grips hard and also gives a sense of comfort for the aggressive driver. The inner ribbing has been updated to keep the tire expansion to a minimum while still providing a healthy dose of flexibility to the tire allowing a greater balance of monster forward traction and comfortable side-bite. The tire is available in gold compound for the front and rear and they include Dirt Tech closed cell inserts.

JConcepts Dirt Maze 1/10th buggy rear tyre

jcdirtmJConcepts Dirt Maze 1/10th buggy rear tyreazetyre

JConcepts have introduced the Dirt Maze 1/10th buggy rear tyre. The big brother to the Webs, the Dirt Maze is designed specifically for the outdoor conditions where the track has been treated or left dry. The tyre has some depth and girth built into the design. Starting with thicker, connected webbing, the hot outdoor tire provides a continuous edgy contact patch needed for driving outdoors and at high-speed. The center X section delivers the comfort with the forward bite and the slightly slotted portions allow some flexibility for stability over terrain. Resting inside the hefty X patterns, horizontal and vertical pins help minimize wear and add some surface area for longer qualifiers and main events. Moving toward the outside of the tyre, the alternating bar concept, used on V2 Bar Codes work their magic to support the side-load during heavy cornering at the end of straight-aways and sweeping corners. Breaking up the alternating bars, an added horizontal bar blends deeply into the side-wall for balancing forward to side traction considerations. The tyre comes including Dirt Tech closed cell inserts and it is available in a range of compounds including the new long wear Y2, O2 and R2 rubber.

JConcepts introduce 2.6″ monster truck tires & wheels

JConcepts introduce 2.6" monster truck tyres & wheels

JConcepts have introduced their all-new 2.6″ monster truck tires and wheels. First up is the Renegades tire, a low-profile carcass and cut-tread offering. The chevron style lugs has been created with specially designed back-cut tread and shaved carcass areas imitating the real thing. At rotation, the tread still stands tall and provides a hefty edge of forward grip in a variety of conditions. The back-cut section provides a small transition during high-speed corning which conform to changing terrain and obstacles. The side-walls have been treated with wording, designs and descriptions consistent with full-scale tires during that generation of performance. The low-profile stance of the Renegades stays very flat during race course competition, speed-runs or general use. The tire carcass profile holds the weight extremely low while the design of the tire beads allows just the right amount of contact patch for gluing and application. The Renegades is available in sticky soft blue compound for dirt, grass and asphalt while the gold compound feels harder to the touch and excels on carpet, astroturf and polished concrete surfaces. It also expands less during high-speeds. Renegades tires are complete and include open cell React inserts to support the grippy tires.
