LRP introduce the Quadra Competition V.1 charger and new hard case LiPo battery packs. Starting with the charger, the Quadra Competition V.1 is designed for the stationary use with the integrated power supply or at the track using 12V input. The charger offers up to 10A charge and 5A discharge current, fills 1S to 6S LiPo and 1 to 14 cell LiXX battery packs and offers several charge programs including balancing and storage charging. Featuring a back-lit display and four foil-covered buttons the V.1 is also updatable using the integrated USB interface. Also new is an updated line of competition hard case LiPo battery packs. Available are several 2S and a 1S pack build from 80C/40C up to 110C/55C cells making them ideal for 1/12th to 1/8th scale applications. The capacities available range from 4500mAh with the 2S ‘shorty’ pack up to 7200mAh with the 2S offerings. They come in protective semi-transparent cases and with 4mm bullet-type tube connectors and 2mm balancer ports.

Hobbywing Xerun V3.1 1S speed controller

Hobbywing have introduced their new Xerun V3.1 1S speed controller. The dedicated 1/12th scale offering is based around the conventional V3.1 but features a BEC system with voltage booster that creates a regulated 6V/3A BEC output for the steering servo from the 1S 3.7V drive battery. This feature does away with the need to use a separate receiver battery pack. Coming in a full CNC-machined aluminium case with built-in on/off switch the controller not only does away with the need for an external receiver battery pack but also sports build-in capacitors for a tidy wiring. The 120A rated speedo is useable with motors down to 3.0T, measures 37.5x31x21.8mm, weights 37.8g and is as highly adjustable as all Xerun V3 controllers.

ORC have two new high-power switched power supplies available. Coming as 12V 32A and 47A variant the unique switch mode design allows greater reliability than traditional mosfet designs, and each unit is equipped with overload, overheat and low voltage protection. Each supply features female Corally-style outlets, and comes with the required kettle lead. They even have a carry handle for easy transportation.

Jimmy Babcock Racing League Rd1

The Jimmy Babcock Racing League (JBRL) kicked off its 2013 season at beautiful OC/RC Raceway in Huntington Beach, California. With over 300 entries for the one-day event and classes for all skill levels, racers were treated to a full day of racing action. Team Associated/Reedy/LRP representatives were on hand to support customers throughout the event while competing in multiple classes. Starting out the winning streak for Team Associated was TQ Jake Thayer and his Reedy/LRP-powered Factory Team RC8.2 eBuggy. In the premier class of 2WD Modified, Steven Hartson proved to be the best of the best by taking the TQ and win with his LRP/Reedy-powered Factory Team B4.2. Hartson again got the TQ and win in 2WD Modified Short Course with his Factory Team SC10. In Truck Modified it was the Reedy/LRP-powered Factory Team T4.2 of Kody Numedahl that got the TQ and win for Team Associated. Rounding out the modified classes, Jimmy Barnett and his Reedy/LRP-powered Factory Team B44.2 took the win in 4WD Modified. Dropping down a classification to 2WD Super Stock (13.5) Nick Wautlet got the win with his Reedy/LRP-powered Factory Team B4.2, while OC/RC local Mike Squillace took the win in 2WD Stock (17.5), again with the Reedy/LRP/B4.2 combo.
