Hurricane Motorsports have released the 2nd battery in their new line of LiPos. This new pack is a 5200mAh monster with a 35C rating, which features a carbon look hard case, and has pre wired end mounted power cables with Traxxas type plug and balancer port.

First seen on Red RC during our coverage from Thailand, Team Orion have officially announced the Vortex Race Spec BL ESC, a brushless speed controller designed for racers. It features a variable frequency system, a unique system that is responsible for the super smooth response of the controller through optimizing the driving frequency in relation to the throttle position. This ESC also sports an ultra low profile design, which has been achieved by designing the electronic components to be as flat as possible and by positioning them as low as possible. The Race Spec Controller comes with 5 pre-set setups which have been optimized by their international racing team and these settings work the best for the most popular categories. For pro’s who want to adapt the setups, it is possible to do so using a special USB cable and software. The brushless sensor technology is ready for motors with at least 4.5 turns (without fan) and 2.5 turn motors with fan and you can buy the controller with and without cooling set.

Reedy have announced the release their all new 35C 5100mAh hard case competition saddle pack LiPo battery. Speedzone have released two new 7.4v LiPo Packs, a 5400 mAh 30C pack and a 5000 mAh 32C pack. Both packs feature a hard case and great run time with low resistance. The 5400 pack have shown run time in excess of 550 seconds, voltage of 7.30+ and resistance in the low 8 range at 35amps. Banana style connectors come as standard along with a standard balancing port. The 5000 pack have shown run time in excess of 520 seconds, voltage of 7.35+ and resistance in the low 7 range at 35amps. Wires are top mounted directly to the cells and come with a standard balancing port, with Deans style connectors available as an option.

Seen in the pits at the Worlds in Thailand is the new prototype ESC from LRP, called the SXX. Much smaller than the previously available Sphere TC spec ESC, the new controller uses a metal plate set into a plastic frame, to which a heatsink fan combo can be applied but currently isn’t necessary for the 4 cell 1:12th scale class. The new ESC, which is also here in Nosram colours, features a revolutionary copper core cooling technology to keep the internals at a low temperature, while the controller software now has 10 power profiles to select from for finer adjustment of power delivery. Also new is what the company calls X.Brake which provides stronger braking, and it too has 10 adjustment settings which can be set by the 2 new externally mounted buttons.

Speedzone have announced their entry into the competitive LiPo market with the release of the IP4200. The IP4200 is rated at 30C+ and features low resistance with 430+ seconds in runtime at 35amps. Wires exit the lipo case through the side and Deans style connectors are available as an option.
