Cragg wins A1

Top Qualifier Neil Cragg has taken an easy win in the opening A-Main of 2WD at the Euro Offroad Series in Germany.  The top 3 on the grid making an early break, the Team Associated driver would lead home Michal Orlowski and Lee Martin, Orlowski benefiting from a late mistake by Martin on the wall while the Yokomo driver was in second and closing down on Cragg.  Behind, HB Racing’s David Ronnefalk would put in a great drive to work his way from 10th on the grid through to fourth.  For championship leader Bruno Coelho the opening A-Main wouldn’t be the turning point he was looking for and despite having the fastest car on track he crossed the finish line 7th.

Cragg Top Qualifier at EOS Daun

Neil Cragg is the 2WD Top Qualifier at Round 2 of the Euro Offroad Series in Germany.  The Team Associated driver claimed his second EOS career TQ after topping 2 of the 4 qualifiers in Daun and with a little help from fellow British driver Lee Martin who took a surprise TQ from Michal Orlowski in the final round.  With only Orlowski able to deny Cragg a pole start for this afternoon’s finals, Cragg looked to have everything under control but with a minute to go a mistake dropped him off the TQ pace with Martin and Orlowski taking up the battle.  With his Q3 TQ time the fastest, Orlowski had the tie break advantage if he could top Q4 and he would push Martin hard for it however with both drivers crashing on their final laps Martin would hang on to take it by half a second.  With Orlowski set to start 2nd, Martin’s TQ bumps the Yokomo driver up to 3rd.  Championship leader Bruno Coelho would complete the Top 3 behind them, the improved result putting him 5th on the grid behind Xray team-mate Martin Bayer.

Cragg TQs opening qualifier at EOS Daun

Neil Cragg has TQ’d the opening round of 2WD qualifying at the Euro Offroad Series in Daun, Germany.  Having topped seeding earlier in the day, the Team Associated driver took the first of the four qualifiers ahead of Xray’s Martin Bayer and the Schumacher of Joern Neumann, all three drivers putting their results down to making less mistakes than their rivals.  Championship leader Bruno Coelho who had the fastest car on the track set the early pace but his run was filled with errors and it was a similar story for reigning champion Michal Orlwoski with them finishing 10th and 6th fastest respectively.

Rivals out to stop Coelho extending EOS points lead in Germany

Following Bruno Coelho’s domination of the Euro Offroad Series season opener back in October, his rivals will be looking to prevent the reigning 4WD Champion from stretching his points lead as the championship visits an all new venue in Daun, Germany, this weekend (26-28 January).  In Warsaw, Coelho and the Xray team completed a clean sweep with the Portuguese star taking the TQ and the win in both classes while his team-mates joined him on either side of both the 2WD and 4WD podiums. Coelho does the double at EOS Poland

Bruno Coelho has opened the new season of the Euro Offroad Series in the best way possible with the Xray driver doing the double in Poland adding the 4WD win to yesterday’s 2WD victory with another faultless performance in A2.  Also securing the bonus point on offer for the TQ, the reigning 4WD Champion finds himself already three points in the lead of both the 2WD & 4WD standings.  Having secured his first ever EOS double at the penultimate round of last season’s championship, today’s 4WD victory marks the World Champion’s 7th win in the class setting him up perfectly to become the first driver to do equal Joern Neumann record of 3-consecutive EOS title wins.  Behind Coelho the 4WD podium would be, as it was in 2WD, an all Xray affair with Bayer winning A3 to secure second overall with Daniel Kobbevik having a great weekend to claim his first EOS podium.  Ty Tessmann would claim 4th on his EOS debut with David Ronnefalk best of the rest, the HB Racing driver being the top non Xray driver with 5th, having been in contention for a podium placing before a coming together with Tessmann in A3.
