Martin sets early practice at EOS

Newly crowned Euro Offroad Series 2WD Champion Lee Martin has set the early pace at season finale at the Hudy Racing Arena. With the first official day of the event getting underway with three rounds of free practice, Martin’s Yokomo topped the times from the Kyosho of former team-mate & champion Naoto Matsukura. Winner of the Slovakian round last year, when the race was the third on the four round calendar, Team Xray’s Martin Bayer would post the third fastest 3-consecutive lap time.

EFRA 200mm Euros Warm-up race – Announcement

The warm-up race for the 2015 EFRA 1/10th 200mm Nitro Touring Car European Championships A & B will be held on the 4th and 5th of July at the impressive EFMOD facility in Izmir, Turkey. Run on a repaved 430 metre track with a 70 metre straight the event will also see the running of the second round of the Turkish On-road Nationals. More information can be found here and here.

Alberto Alonso wins 1/8th class at Spanish Nats Rd2

During last weekend’s 2nd round of the Spanish Nitro On-road Nationals Alberto Alonso took the win in the 45 minute final of the 1/8th scale class. Starting from 6th on the grid Alberto took over the lead in lap 59 and due to different fuel stop strategies the positions changed a few times between Alberto and Sergio Montesinos but Alberto kept the lead in the final portion of the race and ultimately took the win, scoring important points for the overall national ranking in which he now sits in 1st place. The podium was completed by David Castellano and Sergio Rivas in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Paparegas wins Northern Greece Buggy Champs Rd2

The 2nd round of the Northern Greek Buggy Championship was held at the Serres Hobbytech track on a new, technical layout with many jumps. Tasos Paparegas took the pole position and he also scored the fastest lap of the race but he was denied the win because of a battery failure. Instead his brother John took the winning honours from Perogianakis with Margaritis rounding out the podium in 3rd.

Wicaksono wins Jakarta Regional Buggy Champs Rd2

The 2nd round of Jakarta Regional Buggy Championship was held at the Jati Bening Track in Jakarta. The track was muddy and bumpy at race day because of overnight rain, making for some tough time for the drivers. Adrian Sutanto took the TQ after the qualifiers but it was Adrian Wicaksono who came out successful in the final in front of Jason Nugroho who lead the race at some point but he lost the lead after he flipped his buggy. John Agus rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Ressar & Lainemäe win at Estonian Buggy Nats Rd1

The first round of the Estonian 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held at the Tallinn Festival Grounds in Tallinn. The annual grass race was run in the two classes of 1/8th Nitro Buggy and 1/8th E-Buggy and in the Nitro class it was Rainer Ressar who took the win from Hendrik Lainemäe in 2nd and Kuldar Ilus in 3rd.

4WD title showdown at EOS finale

Season #4 of the Euro Offroad Series reaches a climax this weekend in Slovakia with the Hudy Racing Arena playing host to the season finale where attention will focus on the 4WD title showdown. With Team Yokomo’s Lee Martin securing his first EOS title when he successfully defended the Japanese manufacturer’s 2WD crown at Round 3 in Austria, the British driver will this weekend attempt to do the double. The only driver to have ever done the double Joern Nuemann is his title rival, the now Serpent team driver having held reign of the 4WD class since the championship was first started in 2011. With the previous three rounds producing three different winners, on current form it is Martin, winner last time out who looks strongest as Neumann, a dominant force with Team Durango, still gets to terms with his new Serpent.

Schumacher Italy Day 2015 – Report

The Miniautodromo Cademandorli recently held the Schumacher Italy Day 2015 in the classes of Touring Car Modified, Touring Car Stock and Formula. The race attracted some of Italy’s fastest electric on-road drivers and in the Modified class it was Alessio Menicucci who came out successful in front of Daniel Baldissarri and Maurizio Busoli.
