Parnot & Risser win at French 1/10th Off-road Nats Rd3

The third round of the French 1/10th Electric Off-road Nationals was held in Maison-Alfort in the south-east of Paris. Perfect weather and a superb organisation of the hosting AEC club made for a fun weekend on a UK-style track that offered a new and challenging layout. In the 2WD class local driver Julien Parnot (Schumacher) took the win from Olivier de Montfumat (Schumacher) and Belgian driver Nicolas Risser (Team C). In the 4WD class Nicolas Risser (Team C) came out successful from Matthien Briere (Xray) and Team Associated driver Ludovic Valtier.

Belgian FBA Electric On-road Nationals Rd3 – Report

The third round of the FBA Electric On-road Nationals was held in Bierset with the weather forecast not looking very good for Sunday. In the EFRA class Manuel Henriet managed to take the TQ in front of Olivier Bultynck and Nick Joosens. The opening A-final was held in totally wet conditions and with Olivier and Manu touching each other while Nick jumped into the lead in front of Nicolas. Meanwhile Manu was attacking hard while Olivier broke a tyre and came into the pits. Up front Nicolas was in the lead after he passed Nick and later Manu also found a way past Nick. At the end Nicolas took the win right in front of Manu and Nick.

Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Dutch 1/8th Nitro On-road National Championship was held last weekend at the Real 80 track in Groningen in the North of the Netherlands. The weekend started with free practice on Friday which resumed on Saturday but unfortunately changing weather conditions with some very light rain made for difficult track conditions and a lot of uncertainties in terms of the setup. However on Sunday the weather changed to the better and the race would start as planned. In the 30-minute final of the premier NK class Martin Zevenhoven (Serpent) came out successful from Ad Vissenberg (ARC) and Marcel Schouten who rounded out the podium in 3rd.

BIRC Hong Kong Grand Prix – Announcement

The BIRC Hong Kong Grand Prix will be held on the weekend of the 21st of June at the Tom Racing Circuit in the three classes of Modified Touring Car, 13.5T Open Brushless Touring Car and 1/12th Pan Car. The winner of the Modified Touring class will be awarded a flight ticket to the Bangkok International RC Car Championship round in Thailand, held on the 1st and 2nd of August. More information can soon be found on the Facebook pages of the BIRC and of the Tom Racing Circuit.

Simon Kurzbuch wins at Swiss On-road Nats Rd2

Last weekend the second round of the Swiss Nitro On-road Nationals was held at the Aigle track. In 1/8th scale, right from the start on Saturday morning Simon Kurzbuch clocked some good laptimes making him one of the favourites of the weekend. After changing to bi-compound tyres he improved his laptimes even more what resulted in a domination over the whole weekend. In the first qualifier Simon posted the fastest time with an 8 seconds gap to the 2nd placed driver and by doing so, he also set a new lap record of 17.358 seconds. After also winning the third and fourth qualifier Simon started from the 1 spot into the 20 minute semi-final where he again set the fastest time which secured him the pole position for the 45 minute main final in front of Shasa Lackner and Silvio Hächler. Continuing his dominant performance in the main Simon drove a flawless race and he crossed the finish line more than one lap in front of Silvio Hächler, with 3rd placed Christophe Pethoud being another 2 laps down.

Weist & Libar win at RC Lemans Rd2

The 2nd round of the RC Lemans Series was held this past weekend at the iconic track of the LMCC Luxembourg with drivers from France, the Netherlands, Germany and Luxembourg in attendance. In the Pro10 Modified class it was round 1 winner Tobias Weist who set the pace and took the TQ some 1.5 seconds in front of Reinder Wilms and Kai Altmann in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Arnaud Lemperiere and Patrick Miltat from France rounded out the top 5 qualifying result. In the Stock class local hero Jacques Libar took an undefeated TQ in his first ever Pro10 race with a one lap margin on Andreas Dick and Sascha Lennartz.

Adam Drake sweeps JBRL Nitro Series Rd2

Palm Desert RC Raceway hosted round two of the popular JBRL Nitro Series with the event attracting some 200 entries and a good mixture of World-class drivers and local talent. Adam Drake was top qualifier in the Expert Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truck classes. In the premier 1/8th Nitro Buggy class final Mugen driver Drake took the win from Kyosho’s Cody King in 2nd and TLR driver Mark Pavidis who finished in 3rd.

Ryan Maifield doubles at Lonestar Challenge

The Dirt crew rolled into Hutto, Texas, for the Lonestar Challenge last weekend. With a fresh track layout built with that Nitro Challenge flair, racers were excited for Thursday’s practice. World travellers Ryan Maifield and Cole Ogden flew in to compete at the Thornhill Racing Circuit to compete against some of the finest local talent in Texas. Friday’s qualifying started with Ryan Maifield taking TQ runs in 1/8th Buggy and Truggy with teammate Cole Ogden taking 2nd quick-time. With weather concerns starting in the area, the race management crew decided to shorten the race to a 2-day event placing main events on Saturday evening. As qualifying rolled on, Maifield continued to dominate in qualifying.
