Jordan Chong wins at Sabah Borneo off-road race

The Sabah Borneo nitro off-road race was the first ever race held on the newly built facility and it attracted 22 drivers in total. The start of the 45 minute Nitro Buggy A-main saw Jo Wong and Jordan Chong climbing up the field until Jo ran into trouble that allowed Jordan to catch his teammate. Jordan than was able to cruise to the win with Jo Wong in 2nd place while Salman Siran, who took the TQ after the qualifiers, came in 3rd to complete the podium.

JConcepts Challenge Rd5 – Report

The 5th round of the Norwegian JConcepts Challenge was held at Mustit RC with the track being run in its normal fashion this time. Saturday started out with 4WD Buggy and 4WD Short Course with Daniel Kobbevik sitting on TQ in both classes. Daniel then went on to win the first two Short Course A-mains to take the overall win early. The race then was on for the runner-up spot with Dag Andre Karlstad ultimately grabbing the 2nd spot from Robert Stormyrbakken in 3rd.

Mobers and Rettke take German 1/12th titles

Markus Mobers and Jan Rettke have captured the 2015 German 1/12th scale titles. The international German Championships were held at the “Eifel-Ring”, the indoor track of the hosting MAC Adenau club, very close to the Nuerburgring. Like the famous “Nordschleife”, the 111 metre long “Eifel-Ring” is well-known for its interesting and challenging layout where driving ability is more important than the material used. Record-breaking 70 entries were received for the open championship which often attracted only some 40 entries over the past years. Among these entries were also racers from France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Poland.

Gravity RC All-Star Series – Report

Over the course of late Fall 2014 through late Winter 2015, the Gravity RC All-Star Series was held at The Track at Harbor Hobbies, the premier carpet track in Northeast Illinois. Multiple classes were run, and drivers from Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan made the trip, including Gravity RC’s Paul Lemieux as the title sponsor for the series. Gravity G-Spec Type C pre-mounted carpet tires were the spec tire for Stock Touring, and the Gravity USGT pre-glued tires were spec for the USGT class. USVTA ran the tires specified by the class rules. Racing was tight in all three of the competitive classes throughout each weekend. Points were awarded across five races throughout the Series, with the best 4 out of 5 points going toward a total to crown each class Champion.

BRCA GT National Series Rd3 report

Walker-Catchpole wins at BRCA GT National Series

The third round of the BRCA GT National Series was held at the Killamarsh Sports Centre and was hosted by the SWIFTS club. The club set out a well-conceived track layout which included a flowing infield and a long straight, which required some serious thought by the drivers when deciding what gear ratio to run. In GT12 the field was joined by a couple of experienced LMP12 drivers, for their first taste of GT12 National racing, who were hoping to qualify in the A-final. This was no mean feat for them, as the standard of driving at the top end was highly competitive and qualifying times were extremely close. In fact throughout the field, there were some very close battles in qualifying and the finals.

International Dutch F1 Masters – Announcement

International Dutch F1 Masters - Announcement

Hosted at the MACH track in Heemstede, The Netherlands, host of the 2012 IFMAR Worlds, the International Dutch F1 Masters will be held from the 3rd to the 5th of April. Open to racers of Formula cars of all skill levels, the fun race will see free practice on Friday followed by controlled practice and 3 rounds of qualifying on Saturday with a final qualifier and triple finals on Sunday. A great opportunity to practice prior to the ETS in Italy the following week, there will also be a raffle on Saturday evening which is a great opportunity to win prizes. Lorenzo Crolla wins at French EP Off-Road Nats Rd1

The opening round of the French 1/10th Electric Off-Road Nationals was held at BCL this past weekend and in the 4WD Buggy class it was Lorenzo Croll who grabbed the TQ by winning three out of the five qualifiers. The triple A-mains then were quite a mixed affair for Lorenzo as he scored 5th place finishes in the first two legs but a first place and a 2 second faster time than his toughest competitor Ludovic Valtier handed Lorenzo the overall win in the third and decisive final. Ludovic Valtier came in 2nd while Julien Formentin rounded out the podium in 3rd.

Green wins at British Indoor National Champs Rd3

Round 3 of the British Indoor National Championships was held at the Swift Raceway in South Yorkshire last weekend. Mark Green (Serpent) took the overall TQ in the Formula class and in the A-final he lead all the way from his pole position on the grid and managed to win the A-main from Mark Burgess (CRC) and Dave Underwood (Xray) who rounded out the podium. The final round will be held at Chesterfield on Sunday 26th April.
