The 3rd round of the French 1/8th off-road championship was run in Pertuis in the South of France last weekend. Kyosho’s Jerome Aigoin took the win from Renaud Savoya (Xray) while Julien Lattanzio (Mugen) came in 3rd position.

AMC/CARS Summer Shootout Rd1 – Report

The 1st round of the ever-popular Summer Shootout Series took place in Chesterfield, UK. These events have become a regular fixture for indoor racers in the UK in recent years and offer the best opportunity to practice and conduct testing on a national standard track with good grip. Once again Action Model Centre are supporting the series this year, which will cater for 1/12 scale LMP12 and GT12 cars as well as GT10. More than 100 drivers made this a capacity event which included drivers of all levels from national winners down to local club racers.

110% Racing Clinic – Announcement

Gord and Ty Tessmann will hold another of their popular 110% Racing Clinic camps from the 8th to 10th of July at the Circuit RC International in St. Etienne, Quebec before the Quebec Classic Race. Round 2 of the 2014 BRCA TC Nationals took place this past weekend at the Halifax track situated in West Yorkshire. The Halifax track is the largest track the series attends on the 2014 calendar and horsepower is regarded as a crucial factor in both classes. However, the weather this past weekend was cruel to the drivers with rain descending on the superb Halifax facility the whole weekend. But if we were going to have a really wet national, Halifax with its new covered pitting area was possibly the best venue in the UK to host it. Conditions proved to be very difficult and mixed for drivers in both classes with very little grip and forward drive reported on the wet and greasy surface.

Juraj Hudy wins 200mm class at Euros warm-up

Last weekend the 1/8th EFRA European Championship warm-up was held in Kirchberg, Austria. Beside the 1/8th class a 1/10th 200mm support race was held that had Xray’s Juraj Hudy taking the win from teammate Igor Liptak after both had a nice fight in the final and Igor ran out of fuel due to his prototype FX engine running to rich. Forrai Gabor completed the podium in 3rd position.

Stendler & Callegari win at Alpe Adria Cup Rd2

The 2nd round of the Alpe Adria Cup 2014 was held in Cervignano, Italy in dry weather conditions although the weather forecast predicted rain interruptions. Jernej Vuga Stendler took TQ in the 1/8th nitro on-road class and later went on to take quite an easy win as 2nd placed Nejc Mihelic made a mistake allowing Jernej to cruise to the victory despite making an additional stop for fuel and running into clutch issues with some 5 minutes to go. In the 1/10 200m touring class Fabio Callegari took the win in front of Vladimir Knehtl and Gabor Laszlo.

Choi Nak Sung wins at Korea Championships

The 2014 1/8th nitro on-road Korea Championships were held last weekend at the Hitec circuit. Choi Nak Sung took the TQ and race win in his second race for Serpent. Oh Yong Teak and Choi Sung Won completed the podium in 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
