First Buggy TQ for Phend in Q3 of 2WD

Team Losi Racing’s young star Dakotah Phend took his first TQ of buggy at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic, the US National Champion taking Q3 of 2WD to become the third different driver to top a round at the Scottsdale event.  The 17-year-old headed the times by almost 1-second benefiting from a coming together between Q1 and Q2 pace setters Jared Tebo and Ryan Maifield.  Maifield would recover to take second for the round ahead of team-mate Ryan Cavalieri while defending champion Tebo ended up 9th fastest.

LRP TCM 2014 day 2 – Report

Today the remaining four rounds of qualifying were run at this year’s LRP Touring Car Masters in Rüsselsheim. Yesterday had qualifying victories of Ronald Völker in the Masters Class and Oliver Franke in the 10.5T Open Stock Class. The three LRP-HPI Challenge classes were won by Daniel Anthes (17.5T), Patrick Greinke (Classic) and Nico Müller (Rookie). The Masters class showed real close racing in Q2. Taking a look at the best times there where eight drivers between 19.554s and 19.693s. Ronald Völker started first and took the lead closely followed by a bunch of drivers. Freddy Südhoff and Marc Fischer as the first pursuits had issues during their runs. Also Yannic Prümper, who chased Ronald, crashed mid-race. In the end Ronald Völker drove his LRP powered Yokomo to victory. Second place went to Viljami Kutvonen, third to Alexander Hagberg.

Tebo puts in first 4WD TQ run of 2014 Cactus

It has been a good morning for Jared Tebo at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic with the Kyosho driver taking the overall Mod Truck TQ and then backing it up with his first TQ run of 4WD Buggy.  The Kyosho driver would take the first of today’s two qualifiers by .554 of a second over defending Champion Ryan Maifield with Dakotah Phend third.  Having stamped his authority on yesterday’s two qualifiers, Joern Neumann would only manage 7th after a bad opening lap.

Maifield takes 2nd 2WD qualifier at Cactus Classic

After a rocky start to his home event, Ryan Maifield topped off Day 1 of qualifying at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic with a TQ run in 2WD Buggy. Having posted the fourth fastest time in Q1, Maifield would lead an Associated 1, 2, 3 in the second round of qualifying ahead of his young protege Spencer Rivkin and team-mate Ryan Cavalieri.  For Q1 pace setter Jared Tebo it was a tough round as he posted the 19th fastest time.

Neumann stamps authority Day 1 of 4WD Buggy

Team Durango’s Joern Neumann stamped his authority on the first day of 4WD Buggy Qualifying at the 28th running of the Pro-Line Cactus Classic as he claimed the second of the days qualifiers by a massive 5.1 seconds over US National Champion Ty Tessmann.  Having had a bad start to the day posting only the 18th fastest time in Q1, defending champion Ryan Maifield turned things around to record a 3rd for the round.

LRP TCM 2014 day 1 – Report

Today the 17th running of the LRP Touring Car Master got started in Rüsselsheim, Germany and LPR sent us the following report. Today, two rounds of free practice, two rounds of timed practice and the initial round of qualifying were on the schedule. Free practice in the Masters class saw Marc Fischer ahead of Yannic Prümper and reigning LRP TCM champion Ronald Völker. In Open Stock, Jan Ratheisky confirmed his pace with a gap of one second over 3 consecutive laps to Oliver Franke in second spot.

TQ run for Tebo in 2WD Buggy Q1

Last year’s 2WD Buggy winner Jared Tebo got his quest to retain his Pro-Line Cactus Classic title off to the perfect start as he TQ’d the opening round of qualifying at SRS Raceway.  The Kyosho driver took the round ahead of TLR’s Dakotah Phend but only after the US National Champion crashed on his final lap.  Only four drivers managed 14-lap runs with Billy Fischer posting the third fastest time followed by Ryan Maifield.

Neumann takes Q1 of 4WD Buggy at Cactus

Joern Neumann has TQ’d the first round of 4WD Buggy Qualifying at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic at SRS Raceway in Scottsdale, Arizona.   The Team Durango driver topped the time by just shy of a second over Kyosho’s Jared Tebo with Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri 3rd.  For defending champion Ryan Maifield it wasn’t a good start as he managed only the 18th fastest time.  Chasing a fourth consecutive 4WD buggy title at the 28th running of prestigious event, he summed up his run as ‘hurting’.
