2013 Charity Race – Announcement

Charity Race 2013

Following the success of the past 4 years of the Charity Race organised by Team La Gang and ToniSport at the permanent RC Landia carpet track in Scandiano, the event is back for a 5th year from the 6th to the 8th of December. Born from an idea between Team La Gang and Marc and Toni Rheinard, the event went ahead with a big effort from the organisers along with the support of a whole host of top international drivers and factory teams. Last year thanks to a big auction that they do before the final they raised more than €8,000 which was donated to the department of pediatrics hospital in Scandiano in the form of equipment purchased directly from Team La Gang so they are sure that their money will used in the way that we want. Limited to 120 drivers due to the limited pit space this year, thanks to ToniSport, they will have Marc Rheinard, Viktor Wilck, Ronald Volker, Yannic Prumper and Sandro Kuriger in attendance while thanks to Team Xray they will have Alexander Hagberg, Martin Hudy, Francesco Martini, Alessio Menicucci, Marek Cerny, Niklas Johansson and Marco Kaufmann. Also attending the best drivers from all over Italy such as Alessandro Brunelli, Ciaccheri Alessandro, Vignolini Gabriele and Torregiani Luca for a weekend of fun, charity, good food and racing. For anyone interested in attending, feel free to contact Toni Rheinard (info@tonisport.de) or Davide Sillingardi (silla@treskafamily.com).

South African national on-road championship – Report

South African national on-road championship – Report

The final round of the South African national electric on-road championship was hosted by the MMCRC club in the South of Johannesburg. It all came down to the final race to decide who was going to be the next electric on-road champion. Low traction on Saturday made it very difficult for those who had their cars ready to go on Friday and a lot of the drivers struggled to get their cars around the dusty surface. In 13.5T it was Antonio Caroli who pulled an “arrive and drive” move to take the overall TQ. The 17.5T TQ belonged to Ashley Hurley, in 1/12th it was the local boy Shaun Schutte who TQ’d and in the main event, touring modified, Jason Hillcoat dominated once again.

Jake Dellinger wins RC Pro Series E-buggy title

Jake Dellinger wins RC Pro Series E-buggy title

Jake Dellinger has won the 1/8th E-buggy class at the RC Pro Series national championship finale. With a less-than-expected fifth place qualifying effort, Dellinger knew he had to win the triple A-Main final to have a shot at the national championship. In A1, Team Associated team mate David Joor got the win, with Dellinger working his way in to third. For A2, Dellinger stayed consistent and found his way to the front for the win, setting the stage for a showdown with Joor in A3 for the title. An early mistake by Joor sent him to the back of the field while Dellinger worked his way in to second. Shadowing the leader, Dellinger was biding his time – and the leader crashed. This gave Dellinger the gap he needed to cruise to the win and overall national championship. Joor’s consistent finishes netted him second overall.
