Nick Georgiades wins Greek Touring Car champs

Nick Geo wins Greek Touring Car championships

The 4th and final round of the Greek touring car championship took place near Heraklion, Crete. After qualifying local driver Terzis (Xray) took TQ in front of Nick Georgiades (Xray) and John Doucakis (Awesomatix). The first A main saw John passing both Xray drivers in lap 1 but he got hit by Nick sending the Awesomatix on its roof and creating a chain reaction. John found himself at the back of the field while Nick received a stop-and-go penalty. Both soon recovered and Nick took the win with John in second place. The 2nd A final again had a lap 1 carnage to offer, this time Nick Georgiades hit Terzis causing lots of confusion but now Nick escaped further action against him and ended in second position behind John. The decisive third A final saw John losing a position against T.O.P. driver Jim on lap 2 but the Awesomatix driver soon regained the third place and went on to chase the two Xrays of Nick and Terzis. The latter showed great sportsmanship by letting John by as he was clearly faster. John now was on a mission to try and catch Nick. After a short coming together as Nick went wide and John tried to pass him Nick ended in second place with John close behind. The result handed Nick the race win after the tie breaker and this also secured him the Xray driver overall title win of the series. John Doucakis ended the season sitting in the runner-up sport.
