RC-Lemans Series Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the 2020 RC-Lemans Series was hosted by the MCC Rhein Ahr track in Germany last weekend. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic the event was a maiden one this year for many drivers and thus Saturday’s practice was extensively used to get in the first runs of the season. Both the club and the drivers swiftly adapted to the new measures that had to be taken to guarantee everyone’s safety and things really worked out great from the get go. Sunday kicked off less smoothly however as overnight rain forced the organisers to delay the start of the race for about an hour. When things finally started off and in the fast LMP1 Modified class, it was Tim Altmann who set the pace in the opening qualifier. He took the round with a lap margin from last year’s vice champion, Tobias Weist and his brother Kai Altmann.

Graham Hill wins at Border Wars Series Rd2

The second round of the Border Wars R/C Racing Series was hosted by the A-Main Speedway at RAM Off-Road Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado last weekend. The race attracted over 130 entries and in Expert Nitro Buggy it was 11th place qualifier, Graham Hill (Mugen) with the win in the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Sean Trainer (TLR) in 2nd, a lap down. Shelby Parker (JQRacing) came in 3rd overall while Bret Pousson and Thomas Michaels completed the top 5 results.

Aaron Kothman sweeps BBQ Blast 2020

RC Madness of Enfield, Connecticut hosted the BBQ Blast race last weekend. In the premier class of 1/8th Nitro Buggy it was Aaron Kothman with the overall TQ and he would also bring home the win in the 20-minute A-final, leaving behind Jay Bless in 2nd, already a lap down. Kyle Baker came in 3rd overall, another 3 laps down. Over in 1/8th Nitro Truggy it was again Aaron with the TQ and win as Charlie McNeill and John Goode ended the day in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Danish DASU IC Track Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Danish DASU IC Track Nationals was hosted by the Hillerod RC Racing club last weekend in 1/8th Nitro, 1/10th Nitro, 1/8th GTe and 1/5th scale classes. 1/8th IC Track would see Anders Lind (Xray) taking the overall TQ and he also came out on top after the 30-minute A-main event, leaving behind Marcus Christian Nordberg in 2nd and Morten Skov Nielsen (Xray) in 3rd.

Kevin Siller TQs & wins at Battling Giants race

Spirit Controlled RC Racing in Girard, Pennsylvania hosted the Battling Giants race last weekend in several nitro and electric off-road classes. In 1/8th E-Truggy it was Kevin Siller with the overall TQ from Zac Cooper in 2nd. The single 8-minute A-main event then saw Kevin leading from tone to tone to take the win eleven seconds in front of 4th place qualifier, Jake Blood. Zac Cooper came in 3rd overall, another 4.8 seconds back.

Jörn Neumann doubles at NORC Series Rd5

The 5th Round of the NORC Series took place in Troisdorf, Germany last weekend. The weather made for difficult conditions with Saturday’s high traction while overnight rain on made the track slippery on Sunday. Ultimately and when the astro turf fluff had settled, it was Schumacher’s Jörn Neumann with the win in 2WD Buggy from Schumacher teammate, Wesley van Helmond 2nd and Team Associated’s Marcel Schneider in 3rd. The 4WD Buggy class would see a Schumacher podium lock-out with Jörn and Wesley coming in 1st and 2nd again while Moritz Lautenbach completed the top 3 result. Over in the Truck class it was Wesley van Helmond with the win for Schumacher.

Austrian IC Track Nationals Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Austrian IC Track Nationals was held at the popular Aigen track last weekend. In the 1/8th IC Track class it was Nejc Mihelič who set the early pace in free practice. After three rounds of qualifying Nejc also took the TQ in front of Leonardo Varga and Herfried Pucher as rain interrupted the 4th qualification round. In the wet Superpole race it was Herfried Pucher who took the win and joined Nejc Mihelič as direct main finalist. In the dry final Nejc Mihelič (Xray) set the fastest lap of the weekend and he went on to win the race followed by Herfried Pucher (ARC) in 2nd and Bernd Koller (Mugen) in 3rd. Over in the Juniors ranking, it was young Bjan Mikložič (Xray) with the win. The 1/10th Nitro Touring class was lead by Stefan Strasser in front of Christoph Rohrmoser and Lovro Susteric.

Polish Electric On-road Nationals Rd2 – Report

This past weekend the second round of the Polish Electric On-road Nationals was held in the city of Ruda Slaska in great weather conditions. In Touring Stock 13.5T Lukasz Mach (Xray) showed some great performance, taking the TQ and win and also the only sup-16 seconds lap time. Piotr Bigaj (ARC) came in 2nd overall from Krzysztof Ruman (Yokomo) in 3rd.
