Hartson & Numedahl dominate JC Indoor Nats Rd2

The JConcepts Indoor Nationals series made its second stop on the tour at Mike’s Hobby Shop just outside of Dallas, TX in Carrollton. The Team Associated supported event featured some top-level talent, including Steven Hartson, Kody Numedahl, Brent Thielke and Mr. JConcepts himself Jason Ruona. The indoor facility features a mixed topsoil surface roughly 100 x 50′. The flowing layout saw lap times in the low 20s for most classes. From the first laps it was clear that the Reedy/LRP-powered vehicles of Hartson and Numedahl were ready to race. Once qualifying began, there was little doubt who would start on pole. Setting the fastest time in 2WD Modified, 4WD Modified, and 4WD Short Course, Steven Hartson showed the fastest way around the circuit with his B4.1 Worlds Edition, B44.1 and SC10 4×4 and would go on to take the wins in all classes. In the 2WD Short Course class, Kody Numedahl and his FT SC10 set a time that was untouchable, ensuring his TQ grid position for the triple A mains, which he too would convert into the win.

Mattia Pesenti wins Swiss season opener

Last weekend the Modell Rennsport Club St. Gallen hosted the 1st round of the Swiss Nationals in the track of Sitterdorf and Mattia Pesenti sent us this report. The weather forecast wasn’t good so I prepared all the stuff for the rain (air filters, engine, tyres, etc.). We arrived at the track on Friday morning and it was cloudy and cold but no rain so we could test the car. My father and I worked a lot on the setup with the help of Traugott Schär. The track had really low grip on Friday and we had to find the right setup in order to have enough grip and steering. At the end of the day the car was good and quite easy to drive but the track wasn’t so good.

BRCA Clubmans Nationals R1 report

The first round of the BRCA Clubmans Nationals took place at West London Racing Centre at the weekend. The Clubmans Nationals are a series of one day events for 13.5 and 17.5 stock classes and are primarily aimed as a stepping stone for drivers wishing to progress from club to national level competition. It is hoped that information and advice will be cascaded from experienced drivers down to younger and less experienced competitors, who may even be competing at national level for the first time. The format for the meeting was open practice in the morning, followed by 3 rounds of qualifying and 2-leg finals for all. The intention was to give the event the feel of a well run club meeting, so there was no timed practice and qualifying was done on an FTQ basis. The largest and most competitive class was 13.5 with more than 60 entries. Speedo controllers equipped with timing advance software are permitted for this class and it is a very popular format at the various indoor winter series events held in the UK.
