Joe Kerry takes BRCA 200mm Rd6 in Scotland

Joe Kerry takes BRCA 200mm Rd6 in Scotland

Round 6 of the British 200mm Nationals were held this past weekend at the excellent Stonehaven circuit in Scotland. Saturday’s practice was held under dry conditions despite the forecast being for rain and traction was ok to start off with and it wasn’t long before all cars were up to racing pace. Due to the nature of the Stonehaven track, tyre wear is really high so many drivers worked on trying to reduce this for Sunday’s finals. Due to overnight rain qualifying was run under damp and greasy conditions and saw Joe Kerry win all 4 rounds of to take the TQ spot with his Serpent 733. Shortly before the final was due to start the track rapidly dried up so there was a rush in the pits to true some dry tyres for the final. As the final started Joe got an excellent start off the line and had already lapped the entire field within a few minutes. Joe lead every second of the race and in the end won a full 3 laps clear of second placed Alex Thurston who drove very well to finish one second in front of Adam Catchpole who took third. With this result Joe now moves into first place of the British 200mm Championship. Round 7 will take place at the very tight and technical Colchester circuit in 2 weeks time.

Thanks to Joe Kerry for the update.

Felix Law wins 4wd SC at Surf City Classic

This past weekend Orange County Radio Control Raceway (OC/RC) held their 4th Annual Surf City Classic. This year was the biggest turnout in the history of the event with 310 entries. Big time players were in attendance at this year’s event, including JConcepts Team Drivers, Steven Hartson, Brian Kinwald, Josh Numan, Jake Thayer, Zack Rogers, Jimmy Barnett and from Florida, Felix Law. Track conditions were amazing all weekend. It took 3-4 runs to get the JConcepts Gold Compound Bar Codes, the tire of choice for most, to break in. There was talk in the pits of the track going to slicks and it surely did by the time qualifying was coming to an end and main events began. Felix Law ended the weekend with 1st Place in the Short Course 4×4 class. Felix’s Losi SCT-E was covered with JConcepts all weekend including the newly released Raptor X-Flow body, Bar Codes tires in gold compound, JC Profiled closed cell inserts, mounted on Rulux wheels.

Jonas Kaerup wins Rd3 of Danish Nationals

Jonas Kaerup wins Rd3 of Danish Nationals

The weather in Denmark has been awful this year, at least if you race 1:8 scale buggies. Most races have been wet, and the 3rd round of the Danish DRCMU championship would be no different. Drivers were greeted by a wet and muddy track on Sunday morning, however the rain did stop and out came the sun. Most drivers skipped the practice and the first round of qualifiers and so the track was very sticky. Jan D. Hansens (Durango/RB) was on fire in qualifying and he duly took TQ and along with it 3 points for his championship campaign. As Jonas Kaerup used to be known as the sticky bandit, he took full advantage of the muddy conditions to win the semi A and line up 2nd for the final, behind Hansens, who won his semi B by a big margin. The Final was luckily run in the dry and as the race went on the track got a lot better. Jonas Kaerup’s Team Associated with some of the 8.2 updates, shot out in the lead from the sound of the tone. He never looked back, and thereby took his Team Associated RC8/HeadRC.com/O’Donnell car to the win in the 45 minute final in front of Morten Kroghs (Losi/OS) and Michael Gundersen (HongNor/RB).
