Darren Bloomfield wins BRCA 1/8th national Rd4

BRCA-Rallycross-Rd4

The BRCA 1/8th national traveled far up north to Wakefield, West Yorkshire with Darren Bloomfield being the point’s leader going into round 4. With MMRX being a new venue and most of the drivers never attending a race at the track it made this race much more challenging. Darren Bloomfield would show why he is the point’s leader with taking the overall TQ after the first two rounds of qualifying and he also lead the 30min A final from start to finish with his TLR 8ight EU 2.0 followed by Simon Willerrs (Mugen/Orion), Graham Alsop (Hot Bodies/RB) and Ed Kerry (TLR/Novarossi).

Walker and Hough win BRCA Clubman’s Rd2

club-13_5-stock-podium

The popular and compact Eastbourne track was the venue for round two of the 2011 BRCA Clubman’s series, a venue ideally suited to the 13.5 and 17.5 stock racing the series is aimed at. In the 13.5 class TQ was keenly contested and as the final round approached it could have gone either of three ways, in the end it was rising star Ross Walker that took TQ ahead of Liam Brooks and Mathew Chandler. The first A final saw Liam pressure Ross for the entire race but the Associated Academy driver held on to take leg one from Liam. In the second leg Ross knew second place would be enough for the win and when Liam passed him early on Ross drove sensibly to ensure he got second in the leg and the overall win. Liam Brookes was rewarded with second after a brilliant drive from the recent Xray convert. Richard Clarke for Top Photon was third on the podium after a spirited drive from 8th on the grid. In the 17.5 class it was another Associated taking the glory, this time in the hands David Hough, from pole position in the A final David took both legs and wining the meeting ahead of Bryan Norje and Will Vertigan. The BRCA Clubman’s series remains in the south for round three as drivers move down the South coast to the Adur club in four weeks time.
