Prümper heads Yokomo 1-2 in Q3

Former ETS race winner Yannic Prümper has TQ’d the third & penultimate round of qualifying at Apeldoorn setting the fastest time by 3/10th of a second over Yokomo team-mate Cyril N’diaye who in turn was a tenth quicker than Tamiya’s Jilles Groskamp in third.

Groskamp heads Tamiya 1-2-3 in Q1

The opening round of qualifying at the Dutch round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series produced a Tamiya 1-2-3 with Jilles Groskamp setting the pace ahead of Marc Rheinard and Viktor Wilck. Making a one off return to the series this weekend at Apeldoorn, the two time ETS champion said afterwards that he thinks he can go faster as he was only driving at 95%.

Jesse Stark wins Open Mod at RROC

Jesse Stark wins Open Mod at RROC

TOP Racing got in touch to tell us that their driver Jesse Stark took the TQ and won the Open Modified class at the 2011 Reedy Race of Champions held at Norcal Hobbies. Jesse drove his Photon to victory winning the first two mains and because of his win Jesse is automatically invited to compete in the invite class at next year’s Reedy Race.

Jonas Kaerup dominates Nordic Championships

Held in Denmark from June 2nd to 5th, the drivers from Finland, Sweden, Norway and host nation Denmark, were greeted with a beautiful new astroturf track prepared by the DHI-CUP crew in Odense. The weather was awesome, blue sky and 25 degrees all four days and Jonas Kaerup sent us this report.

Groskamp returns to ETS in style

Former two time Euro Touring Series champion Jilles Groskamp has returned to the series in style setting the early pace after three rounds of practice at the Apeldoorn track which is coming in for heaps of phrase from the large entry taking part in the Dutch round.  Groskamp, whose last appearance in the ETS was at the MACH last year, set the fastest time for three consecutive laps over his Tamiya team-mates Marc Rheinard and Viktor Wilck.

Steven Weiss wins first German Outdoor regional

Last weekend saw the first German Outdoor Nationals Round (Mid + West) take place in Andernach. It was the first experience with the TOP Photon on asphalt for TOP Team driver Steven Weiss and after 2 of 4 good qualifying runs, Steven claimed the TQ for the Finals. Continuing on his good form in the final, he was able to win 2 of the 3 Final legs to take the win in front of Xray Team Driver David Ehrbar and Hot Bodies Team Driver Freddy Südhoff. In the Sport class it was Michael Spiering who won for the TOP Team in Front of another TOP driver Christian Lütjen in 2nd.

ETS heads outdoors as Apeldoorn hosts Round 5

The Yokomo Euro Touring Series gets back underway this weekend following a three month break with the beautiful Apeldoorn track in the Netherlands hosting the fifth round and first outdoor race of the 2010/11 season. Making a return to the ETS having previously held the Dutch round during the 2008/09 series, over 200 drivers will compete at Apeldoorn including two time champion Jilles Groskamp who took victory on the last visit to the track en route to successfully defending the inaugural ETS title.

Central Germany Regionals Rd3 report

Last weekend the 3rd round of the Central German Championship took place at the nice track of Wiesbaden, this years host for the European Championship 40+ at beginning of July. Shepherd factory members Armin Weihert, Alex Kempe and team leader Patrick Schäfer attended the race to give support to all Shepherd customers among the 44 entrants. The track was in good shape and practice started already on Friday followed by additional practice on Saturday morning. In the afternoon the first two rounds of qualifying were scheduled but rain effected the timetable. After the track had dried up finally the race started with damp conditions in the first round but in the second round the track was completely dry. Everybody made a save run as the weather forecast for Sunday predicted additional showers. Luckily the track stay dry all day and some fine racing took place.
