Jared Tebo will start the Buggy final at the 12th running of ‘The Dirt’ Nitro Challenge from pole position after putting in a carbon copy performance of yesterday when he wrapped up the Top Qualifier honours for Truggy. The US Champion improved his morning time by over 7 seconds to top the time sheets for Q2 from Ty Tessmann to make it the perfect weekend so far for the Kyosho team driver.

Team Kyosho’s Jared Tebo has picked up where he left off in Truggy yesterday with a TQ run in the opening round of qualifying for the Buggy class at ‘The Dirt’ Nitro Challenge. The only driver to record ten laps, the US Champion also set the fastest lap but said he pushed a little too hard in the later part of the run resulting in a mistake that cost him 5 seconds on his penultimate lap.

Jared Tebo is the Top Qualifier for the Truggy class at the ‘The Dirt’ Nitro Challenge having secured the honour by backing up his opening qualifying performance with another TQ run in the second. The US Truggy Champion once again headed a Kyosho 1-2 at the top the time sheets improving his time by 6 seconds while team-mate Cody King set a new fastest lap time of 44.399 on his way to second.

Giving you another on road gas race option in Italy for the weekend of the 12 and 13th of March, the organisers of the Trophy Shepherd race were in touch to promote their event. Held at the Miniautodromo Mesero, this race is open to both 1/8th scale and 1/10th scale 200mm classes and as well as attracting some top drivers such as Daniele Ielasi, it will be the first European race for new Shepherd signing Ronald Volker.

The past weekend saw the 1st round of the 1/10th off road electric SA National Championship held at Swartkops raceway. The track is a tricky one, with a tight and technical section on the inner field. Team Durango had the most cars in the field with a total of 5 out of the A main being TD cars with another two Team Durango DEX410R in the B main. Jaco Van Eeden took overall TQ in the 4WD Modified A-Main, leading a 1-2-3 procession in qualifying for Team Durango. Positions in the final didn’t change for the top three, with Jaco taking the win ahead of Neil Wanvig and Charles Hollander.

Team Associated are reporting on the Motorama event which is hosted at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and is a total of 60 acres. Motorama is an all-inclusive indoor motorsports show that includes a wide variety of events including Arenacross, Go Karting, Sprint Cars, Car Shows, Battle Bots, and Remote Control car racing. Team Associated drivers Ryan Maifield, Ryan Cavalieri, and Brent Thielke dominated the event, taking home all six major championships in the Nitro Offroad and Electric Offroad events.

Schumacher have announced the Contact Trophy race happening at the Miniautodromo Jody Scheckter in Fiorano, Italy from the 12th to 13th of March. Open to 1/8th and 1/10th scale gas on road, this exciting race which will be attended by a host of top drivers including European Champion Robert Pietsch, Simon Kurzbuch and Jerome Renaux. The 2nd annual Vienna Winterchamps, indoor off-road race was held over the weekend of 18-20th February at the RC-Carpetfun track in Vienna, Austria, with 2WD, 4WD and Short Course 2WD classes. Team Durango driver Jörn Neumann took the overall TQ in both 2WD and 4WD buggy classes with his DEX210 Prototype and DEX410 2010 spec buggies. Hupo Hönigl and Martin Kriel made it a 1-2-3 for Team Durango in 4WD qualifying with Hupo also placing 4th overall in 2WD qualifying after the 5-rounds. In the 3-leg finals, Jörn Neumann took all three legs of the 2WD class to show his blisteringly quick form at the moment, taking the win with Hupo Hönigl third piloting another DEX210 Prototype. In the 4WD class Jörn had taken TQ but it was his Team Durango team mate Hupo Hönigl that secured the victory with his DEX410. Jörn finished second and Rene Trauner in third gave Team Durango a clean sweep for the 4WD podium.
