Tresrey Off-Road race series Rd4

Round 4 of the Tresrey Off-Road race series was held last Sunday at the RC Park GOJO circuit in Gojo-city, Nara, Japan. 65 racers took part, making it the best attended race that the GOJO circuit has ever had for an off-road event with 54 entrants in the 2WD class and 44 in the 4WD class. In qualifying it was Noriyuki Kawashima who managed to take TQ for both the 2WD and 4WD classes. In 2WD, Momotaro Motohira won the race from 2nd on the grid, with Kunio Shimabukuro taking 2nd and Eiji Tomita 3rd. Speed Passion Japan team driver Minoru Utsugi was 7th in qualifying and finished 4th in the final. Yokomo team driver Kenji Tsuruta was 3rd in qualifying and finished 9th in the final with his B4.1. There were 14 Durango DEX410/Rs in the 4WD class and 4 of them made the A final. Kawashima won the race from the pole, with Motohira taking 2nd and Satoshi Fujii 3rd with his DEX410. Team Durango Japan local supported driver Akihiro Yasuda finished 5th, Kenji Masuda finished 7th, and Team Durango/Speed Passion Japan team driver Minoru Utsugi 8th driving DEX410s. After the award ceremony, Tresrey held a big draw prize draw which included the DEX410 2010spec kit, Speed Passion ESC/motor and Tresrey ESCs.

Swauger wins Winternats on RX8 debut

Xray are reporting on the debut race of their new RX8 1/8th scale on road chassis, which took the TQ and win at this months Florida Winternats. The team only had 4 of the prototype RX8s in attendance and in qualifying they managed to take 1st and 2nd with Mike Swauger taking the top spot on his race debut for Xray ahead of Paul Lemieux. The 3rd RX8 would qualify in 10th driven by World Champion Ralph Burch who TQ’d sedan. In the final Mike would lead from the off and only gave up the lead twice when he, had a coming together with a back marker and when he pitted for tires. Quicker on the fresh rubber he would unlap himself twice from Lemieux, who wasn’t changing, and take the win.

Volker & Hofer win in Austria

Ronald Volker leaves the first ever Austrian ETS encounter with his 100% winning record still firmly intact collecting yet another Yokomo Euro Touring Series winning trophy. The Yokomo lead driver wrapped up his third victory of the 2010/11 Series with wins from pole in the opening two legs of the A-Main in St.Polten and was on target for a clean sweep until his pinion came undone in the last minute of third final while holding a comfortable lead. In Pro Stock Martin Hofer got his new Schumacher deal off to the best possible start by taking his and the British manufacturer’s first Euro Touring Series victory.

Volker heads Yokomo 1-2 in opening final

Ronald Volker cruised to an easy victory in the opening leg of the A-Mains here in Austria heading home team-mate Yannic Prumper for a Yokomo 1-2. On target for a hat trick of Euro Touring Series wins, the German led from start to finish with Prumper being the only driver to provide him with any reason for concern.

Volker Top Qualifier in Austria

Ronald Volker’s domination of the 2010/11 Yokomo Euro Touring Series doesn’t look under any serious threat after the German ace secured his third straight overall TQ honours in as many races.  Having set the pace in Q2 & 3, the Team Yokomo lead driver secured pole for tomorrow’s triple A-Mains by topping the final qualifier from young team-mate Yannic Prumper who will start 4th on the grid.

Volker fastest in Q2 in Austria

Ronald Volker has TQ’d the second qualifier for the Austrian round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series topping the time sheets from David Ehrbar and Marc Rheinard.  The Yokomo/LRP driver said a change to the Protoform LTC-R bodyshell gave his BD5 more steering but he didn’t make the most of it, making too many small mistake during the five minute run.  Chasing his third consecutive overall TQ honours, the European Champion thinks with the LTC-R his set-up is good and any extra pace will come from how he prepares his tyres.

Moore tops opening qualifier in Austria

2006 World Champion Andy Moore has topped the opening qualifier for the third round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in St.Polten, Austria.  The factory Hot Bodies driver recorded 19 laps in 5:05.010 and becomes only the third driver this season to post a TQ run beating championship leader Ronald Volker and defending champion Marc Rheinard who are the only other drivers to have achieved the feat.

Hébert tops opening practice in Austria

Factory Team Associated driver Keven Hébert has got his Euro Touring Series debut off to an impressive start with his TC6 setting the fastest lap around the indoor asphalt track here in St.Polten, Austria. The first Canadian to take part in an ETS event, Hébert managed an 16.285 second lap on a track which he described as being a lot bigger than he was used to racing on in US racing scene. Pleased with his lap time, the 22-year-old said he needed to be more consistent but feels a second run should help him settle in better to the unfamiliar settings in particular the height of the drivers rostrum which by American standards towers above the track.
