Pattaya Worlds track preperations in full swing

With the most anticipated event of the year, the 1/8th off road Worlds in Thailand, less than two months away and with a major test getting underway next week, the organisers have been flat out preparing the track for the event. As we can see from these photos, and as we know from models of the new layout, it is completely different from the Pre Worlds. Sporting carpet in areas, we talked with organiser Charlie Siribodhi when we were in Houston and he told us that they are preparing the most challenging track imaginable with off camber turns, large jump sections and other obstacles on this long lap. Red RC will be present throughout the entire event to bring you live coverage so be sure to stay tuned from the 7th of November.

Daan Jacobs wins Dutch 1/10th finale

Daan Jacobs wins Dutch 1/10th finale

Last weekend was the final round of the Dutch National at the smooth flowing Apeldoorn track in the east of the country. Pedro Rombouts had successfully defended his title on the Baanbrekers home track 4 weeks ago, where the final was less then 10 minutes because of a thunderstorm hitting the track. While the NK class was decided already, the NOMAC class still had no champion and with 4 drivers still able to take it, it would be an interesting weekend for them. Daan Jacobs took TQ for the event, also setting a new fastest lap for the AMCA track. The Serpent team driver was clearly happy that he finally could focus on his chassis and described his car as perfect. Maxim Claese didn’t train on Saturday which left him half a second behind Daan Jacobs on the grid. Sander Borghof was in 3th spot on his home track. Pedro Rombouts in 4th and completing the top 5 direct qualifiers was Daan Stuiver, who had also trained on friday with his new Capricorn chassis.

Dustin Evans takes RC Pro Mountain Division Rd3

Dustin Evans takes RC Pro Mountain Division Rd3

Team Losi Racing are reporting that their drivers Dustin Evans and Matt Chambers attended the final round of the RC Pro Series Mountain Division held at Dirtworks R/C in Burlington, CO. Through qualifying Dustin was on his game and took the overall TQ spot for the main with Matt startng 2nd. The main event would prove to be an interesting battle between the two Losi team mates. At the start Dustin led with Matt in 2nd until a mistake coming on the straightaway allowed Matt to take over the lead.  Matt and Dustin stayed close through the first pit stop with Matt leading until he ran out of fuel just before the second fuel stop. This allowed Dustin a comfortable 2 lap lead over Matt who held onto 2nd despite the problem. With 15 minutes to go, Dustin had a problem with a front tire and had to come into the pits for a replacement. This allowed Matt to make up valuable time and get back to within 5 seconds of Dustin. A few small bobbles allowed Matt to take over the lead until a shorter fuel strategy had him pit an extra time. Dustin would cross the finish line first with Matt in second about 10 seconds back and another Losi driven by Chris Peralta rounding out the podium in 3rd.  Chris Peralta took the overall win in Expert Buggy and Expert Truggy for the RC Pro Series Mountain Division.
