Timmerman wins at Wisconsin Nitro Series

Timmerman wins at Wisconsin Nitro Series

The Wisconsin Nitro Series was finally able to get underway for the 2010 season this weekend. After an unfortunate rain out on the series first week last month, Mother Nature again threatened to “rain on our parade” but we were able to get most of the event in. The threat of poor weather scared away some racers, but 70+ entries showed up for the event and were greeted with a great facility updated with many new features and a new track design. The track operated by the Reedsburg Racers Club is located about 1 hour north of the State Capitol of Madison.

Bernd Rausch wins rainy race in Western Germany

Kyosho/Team Orion team driver Bernd Rausch has captured the victory in round three of the 1/10 nitro on road Western German Championship which was held at Bad Breisig, located south of former capital Bonn. Encouraged following his eighth place at the E.C. (B) recently held in Lostallo, Rausch did 63 laps in the very wet final and enjoyed a nine lap advantage over Xray/Orcan racer Andreas Weyhoven. Only three drivers made it to the finish line after 30 minutes with Daniel Toennessen (Mugen/Novarossi) on third but with only 31 laps. Rene Puepke (Mugen/Reds) was on fourth and had to retire at half time. Joerg Baldes (Mugen/Orcan) did only three laps before water took control of his electronics. Even worse things went for Uwe Baldes (Mugen/Orcan) and Daniel Thiele (Mugen/Reds) – they didn’t even make it to the start. Three racers decided not to join the final, the three Serpent drivers Tobias Hepp, Daan Jacobs and Lucien Zens.

Tom Jefferies does double at MMUKGP

Tom Jefferies does double at MMUKGP

The annual Much More UK GP took place last weekend on the Stonehaven track in Scotland. The race is split into two days of racing with the Pro Stock running on Saturday and the Modified on Sunday. In Saturday’s qualifying it started off slightly wet in the morning but was dry by round 1. It was Associated driver Tom Jefferies that took pole position for the double leg finals in front of John Simpson, with Cameron Mac Donald in 3rd. Two leg wins, including a recovery drive in the 2nd run, gave Jefferies the win ahead of TOP driver Dan Rowlands in 2nd and Keiran Smart taking the 3rd spot. In Sunday’s modified class the rain made a return and saw 3 wet rounds of qualifying and it was Jefferies again that claimed pole ahead of Rowlands in 2nd and Mac Donald in 3rd. The first A-main saw most drivers running with wet tires and changing to slicks to the final leg. Some exciting racing saw Tom Jefferies once again claim the win ahead of Cameron Mac Donald in 2nd who was fending off some serious attention from Dan Rowlands.
