Zdenko Kunak wins Czech Speed Passion Challenge

This most popular racing series in the Czech Republic, the Speed Passion Challenge consisted of 25 races including two international races, the very famous ETS and traditional Czech Grand Prix. For the Czech Republic this series have been something new and unique, because for the first time in history the series was promoted by 4 race organisers, who joined together to reach drivers from every part of the country. Because of this, in the final ranking there was 128 drivers, which is the most in Czech history for the stock category. Every driver competing used the Speed Passion Competition 3.0 13.5T motor and Xenon Racing MAX32 tires. The champion of first season was Xray driver Zdenko Kunak, while vice-champion was Hot Bodies racer Jakub Plechac, while Jiri Mara, driving also for Xray, completed the podium in 3rd. The series of course continues in the summer season as well, with 20 races and in addition to the Stock class there will be also be a Modified and Hobby class added. The series wanted to say thank you the different event organisers as well as supporters Mibosport, Lestr Models, Funny Cars and club RCA SVC Trutnov. Also a big thanks goes to Tonisport for it´s support, not only on the price giving ceremony, but throughout the season.

Western Australian F1 RC series rd2

Round 2 of the Western Australian Formula 1 RC series, sponsored by Ryper Hobbies, went north of Perth to the PRECC indoor track in Midland. With a change of surface from outdoor asphalt to indoor carpet, as well as no traction additive being permitted, it was shaping up to be a very open meet. Drivers scrambled to find the best set up without the aid of traction compound, and laptimes slowly dropped during practice.

ETS Introduces Spec Speedo for Pro Stock

Our sport has seen some great advances in technology over the past few seasons.  The introduction of brushless motors and LiPo batteries has made the sport a more level playing field and a lot more user friendly.  Lately however the pace of electronic development has outpaced the sport for many with the latest Stock Spec Speedos become a major talking point.  During our most recent events in the Czech Republic and Poland it was very easy to see that racing was being determined by the latest speedo rather than the individual ability of each driver and after racing it was clear that this was taking the fun out of our events for the majority of the Pro-Stock racers who have traveled across Europe with us to be a part of the Euro Touring Series.

Reedy Int'l TC Race of Champions - Announcement

Reedy and Team Associated have announced that the 2010 Reedy International Touring Car Race of Champions will be held at Nor-Cal Hobbies in Union City, CA from the 27th to the 30th of May. Commonly referred to as “The Race Place,” Nor-Cal Hobbies’ sprawling facility features a world-class on-road track in addition to their off-road, dirt oval and carpet tracks. Modified, 13.5 and 17.5 classes will be offered this year in addition to an Invitational class featuring the world’s best drivers in a series of head-to-head races to determine the champion.

ROAR Electric Off-Road Nationals update

ROAR today announced the 2010 competition and exhibition classes to be contested at the 2010 Electric off-road national championship. The class structure is a return to stock and open tradition of buggy and truck, while 4wd buggy will compete as an open division. Two new championship crowns will be awarded for 2wd short course truck in both stock and open divisions with the 4×4 short course truck debuting as a demonstration class.

Stock divisions will race using the ROAR sportsman participant national guidelines (PDF) and 17.5 brushless motor specifications. Open divisions can utilize any 1:10 class motor approved and published on the ROAR products listing 14 days prior to the start of the event. The 2010 ROAR off-road national championship is scheduled for August 19-22, 2010 hosted by Leisure Hours R/C Raceway in Joliet, Illinois USA. Rain affects Nitro West Masters opener at Oberhausen

Rain has washed away the opener of the Nitro West Masters held on the Easter weekend at Oberhausen. Track was wet all Saturday so only a very few racers went out to check rain tyres and their wet set-up. On Sunday morning the track wasn’t dry either but hope came up during the second heats when the track dried up slightly but a few moments later new rain arrived. Finally it was decided in a second drivers briefing during lunch break to count the race following the heats ranking in the 1/8 and 1/10 scale nitro classes.

Team C Racing double at ACE Cup

Team C Racing double at ACE Cup

Team C Racing are reporting on their success last weekend at the ACE Cup in Shanghai, China. The event was open to racers across 3 different classes, 1/10th 2wd buggy, 1/10th 4wd buggy and 1/8th electric buggy and it was the Team C TC04 4wd buggy that TQ’d the 4wd class in the hands of Tommy, while team mate Lam took the win for the car with Tommy finishing 2nd, while Jerry rounded out the top 3. In the 2wd class Lam took the TQ and win with the TC02, while Jerry took 2nd and Tommy 3rd.

Väst-8 Gothenburg, one of Sweden’s largest R/C-racing clubs, proudly presents the 7th EFRA European Championship for 1/10th scale I.C 200mm touring cars. Spring is turning to summer and the clock is ticking towards one of the highlights of the whole season. With 150 racers attending the EC-A, ready to fight for the title of European champion, the organisers believe this race that will set a new standard to future EFRA Events. The hottest starting field with several European Champions and World Champions from different classes, spread over 22 nations, the competition can’t be much tougher than this. The official website to both the Euros and the Nordic Championship is where they’ll be publishing news weekly with updates and happenings.
