Ethan Lefebvre TQs & wins at Thornhill club race

The Thornhill Racing Circuit of Hutto, Texas held a club race this past weekend that attracted over 70 entries. In 1/8th E-Buggy it was Xray’s Ethan Lefebvre with the overall TQ and he also came out on top in the double A-main events, handing him the day’s win from Chris Allison (Tekno RC) in 2nd and Chris Marrant (HB Racing) in 3rd.

Jeff Whiting wins at Texas Biggie 43

The RCRCNT Raceway in Butleson, Texas held the Texas Biggie 43 this past weekend in several 1/10th, 1/8th and 1/5th scale on-road classes. The event attracted nearly 60 entries and in 1/8th Masters it was Scotty Ernst (Infinity) with the overall TQ from the Serpent duo of Jeff Whiting in 2nd and Darrel Bird in 3rd. The start of the 40-minute A-main event saw Scotty have a great start and he was able to keep calm for the first five minutes with Jeff Whiting right behind him. Scotty slowly was able to build up a lead and put some space between his and the field until his nitro gremlins struck again. 31 minutes in with only 9 minutes to go Ernst had built up a 2-lap lead until he lost a front belt. Scotty was able to keep it on the track for the remainder of the race but could not hold off Jeff and had to settle for 2nd some three laps down as Darrell Bird came in 3rd, another seven laps down.

Ryan Maifield wins at MOD 5th & 8th Scale Champs

The MOD 5th & 8th Scale Champs were held at the Fear Farm track this past weekend, attracting nearly 150 entries for the 1/5th and 1/8th scale off-road classes. In 1/8th Pro Buggy and when the dust had settled, it was Mugen’s Ryan Maifield with the overall win, leaving behind Team Associated’s Spencer Rivkin and Mugen’s Tanner Denney who completed the top 3.

Shepherd welcome back Flavio Elias

Shepherd have announced the return of South American nitro on-road front runner, Flavio Elias to their team. Back in 2015 the polite Brazilian managed to claim the South American Championship as well as a 4th place at the IFMAR World Championship together with Shepherd and now the cooperation has been renewed. Due to the worldwide Corona virus pandemic Flavio plans to attend only regional and national races in 2020 with the main goal being the Worlds in Japan in 2021.  Flavio had the following to say about the deal:

ETS, EOS & ENS announce revised 2020 schedules

With the Corona virus situation impacting racing around the world, many planned events have had to be cancelled or postponed. After carefully monitoring the situation throughout Europe, and talking to host venues and government officials in various countries, the organisers of the ETS, EOS and ENS championships have been able to put together a revised schedule of races for the rest of 2020. Of course, these still do remain provisional as the rules and restrictions change on a regular basis and any further updates will be communicated to racers closer to each event date.

Soda City King of the Road – Report

Soda City in Columbia, South Carolina hosted their annual King of the Road trophy race. The race was attended by drivers around the east coast as some states are still under stay at home orders. Though the attendance was down from prior years the racing was tight among some of the countries up and coming talent. The faculty provided an excellent environment for the racers from beginning to end. In 17.5 Touring Car it was Awesomatix’s John Dickson taking TQ over fellow Awesomatix drivers Brian Card and Clayton Young in the fastest class of the day. During the main event things were shuffled multiple times between all three Awesomatix drivers, but in the end it would be Card taking the win over Young. Dickson would bring it home 3rd completing a clean sweep of the podium for Awesomatix.

Tyler Jones TQs & wins at Saturday Series Rd1

The Jax Trax RC Raceway of Union City, Indiana held round 1 of their Saturday Series this past weekend, attracting nearly 90 entries for the 1/8th off-road and 1/10th Pro4 classes. In the premier Nitro Buggy class it was Agama’s Tyler Jones with the overall TQ and the young man would also come out swinging after the 20-minute A-main event as he lead from tone to tone to take the win from Mugen’s Collin Weatherholt in 2nd and Tekno RC’s Brandon Hogan in 3rd.

SS Sunday Off-road Racing Series – Report

SS Hobbies & Raceway of Tampa, Florida hosted a round of their SS Sunday Off-road Racing Series this past weekend. The event was held in several 1/10th scale electric classes and in 2WD Buggy it was Lee Setser with the win in the single 5-minute A-main event from John Lawson in 2nd, already a lap down, and Kenny Setser in 3rd, another 0.4 seconds behind.
