Camacho & Aguirre win at NEOS Rd3

The Barceloneta RC Complex in Puerto Rico hosted round 3 of the NEOS Nitro Electric On Road Series last weekend, attracting nearly 50 entries. In the 1/8th Open IC Track class it was Antonio Mellado with the overall TQ from Peter Alvarado in 2nd. After the 30-minute A-main event however it was Guillermo Camacho with the win some 15 seconds in front of Peter as Fernando Mendez came in 3rd overall. TQ Antonio had to settle for 11th overall.

Kevin Nielsen crowned Danish Modified Touring champ

The Danish Electric On-road Nationals came to an abrupt end this season as due to the world-wide Corona pandemic the final round had to be cancelled. This allowed Kevin Nielsen to take the overall title in his maiden Modified Touring Car season thanks to taking three wins out of the three rounds that count towards the overall championship.

Adam Drake wins at Holiday Hangover RC Arenacross 2020

The city of Moses Lake, Washington hosted the Holiday Hangover RC Arenacross 2020 last weekend. While Joe Bornhorst swept the Nitro Buggy, Nitro Truggy and Electric Buggy classes it was Mugen’s Adam Drake who took the win in the Pro-Line Spec Nitro Buggy A-main. Adam started from P1 and brought home the win flag to flag, leaving behind Kyosho’s Cody Grams in 2nd, a lap down as Xray’s Joseph Johnson came in 3rd, another lap down.

Matthew Gonzales wins at Supercross Series Rd4

Round 4 of the Supercross Series was held at SDRC Raceway in San Diego, California last weekend, drawing nearly 90 entries. The 2WD Mod Buggy class saw Yokomo driver, Matthew Gonzales taking the overall TQ and also the single 5-minute A-main was pretty much smooth sailing for him as he brought home the win with a lap margin on 4th place qualifier, Kevin King (Team Associated) as Eli Westrup (TLR) came in 3rd another lap down.

2020 Texas Electric On Road Series – Report

Round 1 of the 2020 Texas Electric On Road Series was held at Mike’s Gulf Coast RC Raceway in Porter, Texas last weekend. Eventual winner, Chris Adam pulled away early from the pack in the Modified Touring class to cruise for the win as Andrew Doherty defended for his very life for the entire race from Michael Toth, who perhaps was slightly faster, but simply could not find a way around Andrew.

Bornhorst sweeps Holiday Hangover RC Arenacross 2020

The Holiday Hangover RC Arenacross 2020 was held in Moses Lake, Washington over the weekend, attracting over 270 entries including some of the country’s fastest off-road racers. In the premier class of 1/8th Nitro Buggy it was Tekno RC’s Joe Bornhorst with the overall TQ and also came out on top after the 30-minute A-main event, however he was hotly contested by Mugen’s Adam Drake with whom he swapped the lead several times. In the end Adam had to settle for 2nd overall, some 2.5 seconds behind Joe. Four laps down it was Marcus Anzivino (Kyosho) who would round out the top 3.

Paul Ciccarello takes Tennessee State Championship title

The 2020 Tennessee State Championship was held at ROCCK Racing in Knoxville, Tennessee last weekend. The event attracted nearly 180 entries and in Pro Nitro Buggy it was Xray’s Adam Johnson with the overall TQ from teammate, Paul Ciccarello in 2nd. The 30-minute saw Adam out in front by up to two laps, however with less than two minutes to go he suffered a mechanical and had to limp his car around the track. Teammate Paul Ciccarello took advantage of this and took home the win with Adam still managing to hold onto 2nd place. William McIver (Serpent) came in 3rd overall to round out the top 3 result.

Jason Nugroho wins Indonesia Buggy Nationals opener

The Banana RC Track in Batam City, Indonesia held round 1 of the Indonesia Buggy Nationals this past weekend. A total of 24 drivers from Jakarta, Medan, Banjarmasin as well as local drivers attended the event whose schedule saw six rounds of 10-minute qualifying with the best four to count. Ultimately it was Jason Nugroho (HB Racing/Ninja) with the TQ honours, but he suffered a flame out in his semifinal and finished in 2nd place only. This meant he had to start from P3 on the grid, however after the 60-minute main final encounter Jason found his way to the top again as he finished a lap in front of Adrian Wicaksono (Mugen/Ninja) while Rama Danindro (Kyosho/O.S.) ended the race in 3rd, another lap down. Rizki Pradana (Mugen) came in 4th and Andre S. rounded out the top 5 result, also driving a Mugen.
